What do you think happens if all the stars in the heavens align and everyone in Minnesota finally comes together and grants the Vikings their new stadium, but... they tell the Wilfs that it's contingent upon them paying $400 million of the cost instead of the $215 million that they seem to want to pitch in?
The chances of this thing ever coming together are gradually becoming infinitely small. Minnesotans are going to be attending monster truck rallies and Prince concerts in the Metrodump for decades to come.

One argument that I just don't get is the " Metrodome site has the infrastructure and the Arden hills location does not" I am an out of state Vikings fan but I have driven and flown to Minny many times for Vikings games " including the Dallas playoff game in 010" and I don't see any infrastructure in Minneapolis other than the dome itself. There is no parking other than individual lots the tailgating is a hodgepodge of gatherings in parking lots around the stadium and traffic was a nightmare coming and going. I am very intrigued by the talk of getting a site with actual parking areas and a place to have a great tailgating experience like they have in other cities. I am hoping that they build an outdoor stadium in Arden hills with real grass. I live in Ohio and went to the season opener in Cleveland in 09 and thought this perfect, no frills just a good stadium outdoors on a grass field, thats the way the game was meant to be!

I think they're talking about the roads. That said, i don't see where the Arden Hills site needs $100-$200M in infrastructure work. It's just off both I694 and I35W, with two 4 lane divided highways (US 10 and MN 96) running to the site. Yes, it'll need some access roads, additional turn lanes, etc, and maybe taking US 10 to 6 lanes would be a good idea, but that just doesn't seem like $100M in work.

Additional exits and onramps, expanded exchanges between highways, additional lanes. Not cheap. Then there are roads around the stadium itself for access to parking lots. There are also things like water, sewage, and electrical service. If there's nothing out there currently, like big office parks or shopping malls, then it will all need to be delivered. The more remote the area, the more it will cost. Looks like the former arsenal site in Arden Hills is surrounded by mostly residential subdivisions and trailer parks.

This may be cause for concern... If they have to wait until the CBA is done to have access to the additional funds for the stadium it may have to wait until the next legislative session. This just keeps getting better...

It cannot be good for the stadium push that the whole decertification antitrust litigation will play out in federal court in Minnesota at the same time Lester Bagley and his band of misfits are trying to galvanize the legislature to back a new stadium at a still-unannounced site. I fear the end of the Minnesota Vikings as we know and love them is near.

Zulgad also points out that Goodell would be “more than happy” to travel to Minnesota to help find a resolution and also that the NFL Commissioner has been in touch with Ted Mondale, who is chair of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission.
