I wonder if the White Sox are getting sick of Guillen's shenanigans? Maybe they would fire him, and then the Twins would hire him!! That would kick ####!!

Id take anyone over Guardy, almost anyone. And after last nights snooze fest, I think youre right, we'll get swept. All it took to shut our hot hitting off was one single game against a half decent team. I didnt used to dislike Guardy, now I absolutely cant stand him, I hope he is gone soon. A whopping four hits last night. Probably be shut out tonight.

just to play devils advocate here as i'm not a giant guardy fan either. i just think he, with almost all coaches takes too much criticism. was he given credit last week when our bats were on fire? i don't recall any. and if not, is it only because we were playing inferior teams? if that is the case, is it not fair to assume that when we get less hits that maybe we just ran into a better team? or are you guys of the belief that the twins are the best, most talented team in the league and guardy is just dropping the ball? also, do all coaches get blamed when their team puts up 4 hits or less in a game? how about when you're without your 2 best players? if we win tonight is guardy a genius because he was so stupid last night?

Did you see yesterdays line up? Do you watch how he manages his pitchers? Punto still has a job? When we win he isnt a genious and when we lose he isnt an idiot IMO. I just dont think he does a good job. Injuries happen, but when Mauer and Morneau are down for the same game, we dont have much of a chance IMO. I just think Guardy needs to go.

well that i agree with. that is kind of my point. do you think there are other teams that could have went on the road to play one of the best teams in baseball and won without their 2 best players? i don't. this is why i find it funny that so many people bag on a manager. it was really quiet in here last week when we won like 9 straight...yet the second we lose to a very good team on the road people start calling for the managers head. i just find it funny. i won't have a problem if he gets replaced. however, i'm not about to blame the guy for every little thing this team goes through. we're set up to win another division title, and we're doing it with a horrible pitching staff. we all agree our pitchers need to get better yet we're acting like guardy should be able to win every game he plays.

as for the lineup yesterday, i did see it and actually liked it. just out of curiousity...what would you have done differently to yesterdays lineup that would have given us a better chance of winning. i actually thought it was a very entertaining game but that's just me. of course i understand it's a very long season and every team is going to have some hot and cold stretches.

Baker pitched a great game tonight. The starters have been on an upswing lately, now all we need is for the rest of the team to get healthy.

So much for getting swept by the Rays, hah!

I understand we won this game 8-6 but...

WHY THE HELL DID GARDY PULL CRAIN AFTER HE GAVE UP THE WALK???? Then he brought in Ron "softball" Mayhay in to give up the grand slam. Crain has been on fire, and easily the best reliever the Twins have int he past two months. game that wasn't close, and shouldn't have been close, was suddenly tied. Its stupid. He didn't want Crain to pitch to the lefty, so his "strategic" move to bring in a left resulted in... a lefty who is horrific against right handed hitters pitching to a right handed pitch hitter.

Yes they won. I'm happy they won. But they also needed a giant fluke hit to do it.

Ron Gardenhire SUCKS. He just plain SUCKS, and he wouldn't be able to lead the Yankees to the post season.

Agree 100%. He manages scared all the time. While Ill admit Im not a huge Craine fan, he has been doing well and should have stayed in. Guardy does this crap all the time and it gets frustrating. Had we lost, that loss would have been on Guardy IMO, the win doesnt, they won in spite of him managing a bad game in the late innings, which in this game, was the only time he needed to actually make any tough decisions, he is an idiot.

ummm,no manager beat the Yankees last year. Its no easy feat to beat them. Their lineup is stacked they spend money on whoever they want. And if it gets into the 9th inning and we're down by 1-2 runs, barring another Kubel grand slam,Mariano is going to shut us down
Look at ur sig,now back 2 mine, now back to yours, now back to mine

Look down, back up,your on VMB reading the sig your sig can look like.I'm on a computer

You read it wrong.. I said he couldn't LEAD the Yankees to the postseason, and I actually meant the '96 Yankees or whatever team it was that won all those games.

This thread is turning into a Gardenhire hate thread. I get the feeling you guys will look for any reason to rip into him, no matter what happens.

Some positives:
- we just split a series against the best team in baseball
- Baker and Slowey are coming around
- we have young guys like Valencia and Repko who are doing great jobs
