XMen Origins:Wolverine

Post by DeeEss57 »

Saw the movie on Friday and really enjoyed it. Not sure how faithful it is to the comic book series, but it fits nicely with the movie series. If you enjoyed the three earlier movies, you'll like this one.

A couple of quibbles though. The guy playing Styker didn't do his homework and it makes you wonder where the Stryker of the second movie came about his slight southern accent.

Liev Schreiber turning into Tyler Mane in six years? Don't think so.

I went to the midnight showing first night and loved the movie.

This was by far the best X men out of the four the have made IMO.

I saw the movie last Saturday and enjoyed it for the most part. I was amazed that they were able to make gambit a decent character. I expected horrible casting there. Though I had to nitpick at his ability to run up a wall ... which he shouldn't have been able to do.

I agree about Sabertooth ... I can only assume they'll explain it through more experiments done to him.

All in all I wasn't disappointed.

It's been getting appalling reviews, but I really enjoyed it. It was a great "summer" escapist film. Not every super hero movie has to be the Dark Knight.

Thats usually one of the things I look for first in a movie if the critics didn't like it
a lot of times I really do. I think most critics are wanbe directors or producers
that no one will listen too due to talent level.

I liked it too. Not great or as good as the Dark Knight or Ironman, but it was enjoyable. Good cast too. Though I thought Gambit needed to be more Cajun.

What other X-Men Origins will there be? I can see Cyclops (though that could get cheesy a la Daredevil). I doubt Halley Barry will do a Storm movie after the horrible reviews Catwoman received. There's not enough substance to do a Jean movie, nor a Professor X. Magneto would be a fun one to watch. What do you think?

Cyclops isn't interesting enough, IMO.

I bet Halley Barry would do a Storm movie because she'd get fat paid, regardless of reviews.

Beast could be cool. Especially when you tie in Government stuff.

The Rouge and Ms. Marvel story line would be pretty awesome to cover too.

There is supposed to be an Origins movie about Magneto. I don't know if it's still on the slate for production or not, though. But, the origins of Magneto would also tell the story of Charles Xavier, too, since they were friends for many, many years.

I would imagine rogue and mystique would have to play major roles in that movie, seeing as they are his sister and mother. Could be pretty interesting though I would think.

I wasn't as big a fan of this movie, didn't really stick to the story line of the comic books or cartoon as much as I would have hoped.

Whenever I go to watch pretty much any movie based on a comic book I basically try to forget the comic's story line. To me it always seems that they do their best to stay true to the character's ability's and basic situations and create a completely new plot.

IMO if you're going to stay completely true to the story line you need to make it an animated movie (or series) rather than live action.

You have to think of the movies as an alternate universe.

I was frustrated the had Night Crawler in the movie so little. He was only in the second movie out of four now. They made Gambit
who i never liked a bigger character than Night Crawler.
