Super Bowls

Post by viking_guy »

I don't have any memory of the Vikings playing in the big game. I was too young to remember them. The first Super Bowl I remember is XIV - between the Steelers and the Rams. My question is do you actually remember the Vikings in a Super Bowl? If so, which one? Or if not the Vikings, which one is the first you remember watching?

Which time?

The first I remember is the Bills-Giants. The first I watched in full and understood the game well was the Bills-Cowboys (the first time.) Haven't missed a minute since accept the 1998 season where I only watched a little bit (I was obviously still mourning.)

Me too, I could not watch 1998. I missed 2000 (NYG vs. BAL)because I was moving. The first one I remember was WAS vs. DEN. The first one I was into was SF vs. DEN. I don't remember the years.

Although, I was old enough to remember them, I have no recollection whatsoever of any of the Vikings' Super Bowls. I guess I just deleted them from my memory since they lost them all. :)

I don't remember much (if anything) about the KC one, but I still remember watching on tv and where I was for the other 3 - seems that in those days, as the game wore on my ability to pay attention was slowly degrading :burp:
(still despise the dolphins, steelers, and raiders)

Probably Redskins vs. Bills for me. I was 7 at the time and I recall watching the Twins in the World Series the year before.

1st one I remember was SB II. I was 15 during SB 4 and remember a %^&*$ friend /Packer fan calling to give me grief. Did't get to see the Vikings/Steelers. I was working on the Flightline in Utapao Thailand but the game was on Armed Forces Radio. I'd get updates about every half hour when the dispatch truck would stop by. I can still picture this one buddy also from Minnesota sitting in the back of the truck wearing his Vikings stocking cap in 90 degree weather. After the game he just sat there with the saddest look I'd seen with the cap pulled down low. Saw several in the early 80s live on tv while stationed on Guam. Luckily I worked Night shift so got to see them about 9 AM on Monday morning but going in to work at 3;30 made drinking a non- option
