For those of you too young to remember the show, I am sure you have seen it's influence in the scene transistions in the Austin Powers movies.

Say goodnight Dick.

I loved that show when it was on! It always amazed me who would show up on it. Who would have expected tricky Dick (Nixon) to show up and say 'Sock it to me'? Or how about John Wayne doing poetry (ala Henry Gibson) whilst dressed as a pink bunny?

I didn't know that Martin turned to directing after his comedy days were over. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for his name on reruns.

Dawn

The Cobra, by Henry Gibson

The cobra always wears a smile
As he creeps across the ground
He grins like he's up in the clouds
I think that he turns on.
