Need serious help from board members for this season

First off I love this board!! Thanks to Cliff, the mods and all the members here. It's the only Vikings forum I'm a member of and the only one I spend time on. Opinions vary for sure, but as a whole , we all have some great discussions and share some great insight.
Well guys I am freaking out right now. Making some huge changes in life, and it is also seriously disrupting my Purple Fandom Life!!
After 31 yrs of employment with the same company , 26 years of living in the same house and all but 2 of my almost 57 years of existence of living in the same rural county... my wife and I are really shaking up our comfortable life!!
I have been lured away to a different company and start there in 2 weeks. Our house sold without being on the market, to the first person who looked at it for a VERY lucrative financial gain. And we are moving from a small rural community to the outskirts of Columbus. So very small town to city life.
I will be taking a position with a very stable company, with a great opportunity for growth and personal advancement, and an even much better benefits package than I had. All a huge plus.
The biggest plus is that we will now only be about 15 mins away from our only child, our daughter, and our new son in law, instead of the 2 1/2 hr distance we have now. And if all goes as planned, grandkids very soon. That all is the greatest plus of all!!!
Now the downside. Living in the country to the big city. I am starting my first bowhunting season EVER with no hunting ground within minutes secured. Fellas, that's huge. I am used to being able to be in a stand with an arrow nocked within 25 minutes from the house, that included the drive, getting dressed at the truck and the walk back. This is killing me!
The other is that with the housing market the way it is, we will not be buying right way. First we want to find the perfect area we want to live in for good, and wait till the market turns around the other way and becomes a buyer's market, and then either buy or build then. So for now we will just be temporarily renting.
What sucks for me is that after 18 yrs of NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV ( I have had it e er since it came out), I will not be able to have satellite where we r going. Only stupid cable. So i will no longer be able to see the Vikings every single week at home. This really hurts bad!!
I am not a sports bar type to try and catch games there. I get upset if my dog barks and makes noise during the games. I have always watched the games in my basement Vikings man cave so I can hear every word and really focus on every aspect of the game.
This is a huge deal for me.
I recall members here telling of ways to still be able to watch all the games somehow on cable, or streaming them etc.
I am no technical expert at all. Wanna learn to gut and butcher any animal u want.. I'm ur guy. Anything bowhunting and outdoors I can help u immensely.
I am way behind the times when it comes to all the technical stuff.
So any help, and a very thorough explanation of the how to do it, to somehow help me be able to see our Vikes every week that they aren't on local programming or prime time games would be HUGELY appreciated. There was one condo we about were able to get where I was gonna be able to continue my DirecTV subscription but we were too late. So where we ended up in will not allow it. So I am worried about it now.
PLEASE HELP!!!

If you don't care about watching it after it is over gamepass is a great deal.

Like someone already mentioned, NFL season pass is probably your best bet if you don't care about watching it live. Other option would be to find a bar in your area that is a "Viking's Bar" and watch the game there on their satellite TV if you wanted to watch live.
Finally, there are streaming options that might work for you, but would require you to setup a VPN to "trick" them into thinking your home location was Minneapolis. Youtube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV and Sling all have local options and those, along with a VPN service like Nord VPN would get you live TV from any location you want. I have never done it myself, but I know it is possible and probably not that hard. Downside here is I am not sure you can switch your home location back and forth easily, so you might get stuck watching MN local TV instead of wherever you live. Over the air TV would fix that problem if you didn't mind switching back and forth between sources.

If I get this right the problem is the place doesn't allow a dish on your property right. Check out a device called a venom pro.

Seems to me that if your destination was Minnesota most of your problems would be solved. I live half an hour north of the Cities. Bow hunting nearby a couple miles down the road north, east and west within minutes. Dish, no problem and high speed internet for streaming is available as well. And best of all, the Vikes are a lot closer if you want to see a game. The challenge is talking the kids into moving here. There are good jobs up here as well.

I like the last option the best!!!
I saw something a little bit ago about being able to still get the Sunday Ticket if ur in a condo, apartment etc that wont allow a satellite dish. That may be my saving grace. I have been with DirecTV ever since NFL Sunday Ticket came out. That's why I switched. So I've been a customer for like 19 or so yrs now.
The condo we r renting will not allow a dish to be installed, but one of the options for cable is AT&T cable and also internet service. So I will just call them and try to figure it out. I just wish I could do a dish then would be a breeze. Just tell them I'm moving, take our receivers and get set up.

Thanks man. If worse comes to worse I would just do the season pass and have to watch after the fact. That sucks but better than not seeing it all.
I saw some info on a website about the other option you talked about , with the VPN service and all that goes along with that.
Now to you guys that are good at all that stuff I'm sure that's an easy thing. For a guy like me, it's like talking Chinese to me lol.
My son in law knows more about that stuff, and different streaming services etc. So maybe he will help.
Appreciate the help.

It isn't hard to setup the VPN I don't think, but it sounds like some of the services also use GPS to track your location, and getting around that is incredibly complex.

I appreciate the help in the posts that you guys are throwing out there.
I really hope that I will be able to just get Sunday Ticket from them without having a dish due to the restrictions in the condo area we will be moving into.
I just wish the NFL would finally strike a deal and allow more than DirecTV to offer the Sunday Ticket. I know several guys who would love to have it but don't want DirecTV.
Like I said in earlier posts , technology and I aren't real close buddies. Cell phones, an iPad and computer program at work are about as far as my knowledge stretches.
We have an IT guy, young kid, who told another of our co workers not long ago , about me, that " Man he really only knows the basics on the comp doesn't he?" It was funny the other guy said " Yes your right. But I will tell you, if the world goes haywire, and things get bad and ppl like us can't go and buy groceries, I will be hanging close to him, cuz he will be eating all the wild meat you can get." So at least I know my family won't starve from my lack of technology skills.
Thanks again guys for the ideas. The wife laughs that with all the changes of new environment, new job, new living etc etc, the ONLY thing she sees me stressing about is the Vikings games and hunting properties. I said priorities hun... priorities!!

Just go here:
https://nflsthelp.directv.com/hc/en-us/ ... TICKET-TV-
and click Check Eligibility, pop in the info, and see if you're eligible.
If so, problem solved. You download the app(s) on whatever devices you want to watch on, pay, and away you go.
If you're not eligible, then there are other options of varying degrees of difficulty, legality, and risk depending on how far you want to go to watch the games.
Sunday Ticket streaming is your best bet, though.

Let me tell you, the streaming quality over the years has VASTLY improved. To the point where I cancelled Sunday Ticket years ago and just find the games online. The only real downside is the streams are slightly delayed (about 30 seconds) so if you're in the game chat, you'll likely know what happens before you see it. But Sunday Ticket has the same problem and this method is 100% free.
These streaming sites can have a ton of ads, some malicious so you need to make sure you block them. Luckily this is really easy. The first thing you're going to want to do is install the Firefox web browser. Firefox has the ability to install add-ons that will take care of the ads. Once you install Firefox, go to settings and look for add-ons. The three that will serve you best is uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and HTTPS Everywhere. These are by far the most popular and will be easy to find. Honestly, everyone should be using this setup for regular web browsing but it's especially important for streaming sites.
Once you have that set up, you just need links to the games, which many of us can provide when it's time. Sports bars are a good suggestion but if you're watching the game at home online, save your money.

I haven’t had a dish for about 3 years now. Like you the only reason I held on so long was because I thought that was the only way to keep the Sunday ticket. Living in Montana I NEED the ticket to watch the vikes every weekend.
Anyway, I use steaming for everything now. YouTube tv for all my regular watching. These include our local channels and the news. Then I just downloaded the Sunday ticket app before the season and get all the games in real time just as I always did with direct tv. If you have a smart tv it’s really easy but even if not you can use something like Apple TV. But it’s really easy. Just find a way to download the Sunday ticket app and you’re in business all season long.
Best of luck in your new ventures. Exciting!

As was previously stated, you can get sunday ticket on a TV or Tablet / Phone, or a media box. The delay will be about a play behind. Sometimes i don't mind it and other times i have to skip the chat.
