Late Round dream OL prospects

I know that everyone wants the highly rated top guys on the OL like Sewell and Slater. I however, would love if we draft a guy like Parsons and target some guys that don't meet our system in the later rounds. I'm sick of these nible interior guys that get their lunch taken when we need a yard or a solid pocket. I want some beef in the interior 3 and since Bradbury isn't going anyway where, I say we pair him with two people movers at Guard.
1. Landon Dickerson - Alabama - 3rd Round - Comp pick
Fits the Special man mold of playing up and down the OL. Has a passion for the game that few have. He is a people mover. There are plays when he is blocking 2-3 people in a play. I dream about the holes he could open up for Dalvin on the inside, allowing him to hit the sideline at the 2nd level for the home run. Additionally, you will be hard pressed to see him get beat in pass protection. He has a solid anchor and enough footwork to mirror his guy. His best trait might be his awareness, he is always helping (at center) the guy that needs help and rarely is gooled by a stunt or delayed blitz. He is a coach on the field.
His biggest negative is a big one, injury concern. I'm a guy that's been injured a lot in my football career and I really think it's just a luck thing. This guys has had 4 season ending injuries in 5 years. Additionally, he doesn't fit our zone blocking scheme perfectly. He's slower than most would like and isn't great at the second level.
2. Deonte Brown - OG - Alabama - 4th rounder.
If you look up Massive in the dictionary you will only see a picture of half his body because he is too damn big to picture. We will never have a problem with a bull rush. Kirk's pocket on his side will be clean. Seeing him scraping down the line on outside zone will be a thing of beauty. Slow to get moving but once up to speed, no one is getting close to Dalvin. Will come in and dominate NTs day one.
His negatives are his size. He has some bad weight that he should be able to shed in the pros. As a result of carrying that bad weight, his conditioning didn't seem up to par. Saw some games where he simply was out of gas. His ability appears below average. Both of these problems can greatly be improved with a pro diet and conditioning.
Bonus. Creed Humphrey - OU - First 3rd if he slips. If he is there at 60-78, expect to see Rick Run to the phone with a national televised boner. This kid is everything Bradbury should be except he had the strength to control the LOS. 3 year starter on an explosive offense. His outsize zone blocking is 🤌 (chef kiss). Loss of talented co-workers did not finish his game what's so ever. Just as good as Bradbury in the run game but gave up 0 sacks in 3 years and 0 hits a season ago. I would expect to see us trade up into the 2nd if he is still on the board late into the round.

I like your thought about Landon Dickerson. That's what I would like to see also. Guys that handle the point. Once Cook gets past the LOS he has the talent to handle the rest. But this type of OL guy doesn't fit our no base movement OL scheme.

Creed Humphrey won't be there in the 3rd..... He will go late 1st early second.

Who cares? I rather guys that can make and sustain blocks. The guys they have drafted to fit that movement scheme, doesn't fit the scheme either.

I don't think he will. He is talented but I think we will have a shot at him in the 2nd by giving up one of our late 4ths.

My favorite out of the three would be Deonte Brown. I love road grinders at the guard position. I love guys that are built like a wall.

Any of the guys you list would be great pickups if the Vikings can get them. Dickerson has had the injury history which might cause him to slide, but if he's healthy he's probably as good as any lineman on the Vikings from Day One with a higher ceiling than any of them. Dickerson would probably be in the conversation for the top half of the first round if he didn't have that history.
Deonte Brown would be a great pickup too. It's hard to say if Brown lacks motivation because he's just so dominant or what, but the potential for Brown to become a dominant OL as a pro is there if he wants to put in the work. Yeah, he's the kind of guy you want playing guard when you need that yard on 4th down.
As for Creed, I'm a big fan of his too for the reasons you list. I continue to be concerned about Bradbury's ability to hold up against the larger interior DL he faces. He seems to give up ground frequently enough that it becomes a concern, especially when Cousins prefers to stay in the pocket and needs to be able to step up. Humphrey is not going to cede that ground even to the larger defensive tackles he faces.
If Spielman could somehow snag Dickerson and Creed he's almost solved his OL problems in a single draft.

To be honest, there is no reason he cannot.
Take Parsons in the first @ 14 ( if there)
Take Creed at 58 by trading a 3rd and 4th to get him.
Take Dickerson at 63 by trading 90 and two 4ths to get him.
Leave the draft with Parson ( to replace Barr next season), Creed and Dickerson.
Move Dickerson to RG, Creed to LG. Draft Brown in the 5th in case Bradbury doesn't work out this season and you need tomorrow Creed to Center next year.
Works even better if you pass on Parson and pick up a 2nd by drafting a pass rusher late. Then with your 4ths, you can pick up a Safey like Johnson from Indiana and a Corner like Stone from Ga ( I think it is stone, to lazy to look up)

I like CB Farley or DE Paye. Either fills a tremendous need. Parsons don't bring enough for a 4-3 team and Barr will be here forever. I would like them to get Trask. We need a QB with some talent in the hole. He's a project but at least he's not a one look and run guy.

Barr is a FA after this season. He's gone.

I don't think Dickerson is going to be there at 63. I hope I'm wrong, but if he slips, it'll be because of his injury history, and that'd be a red flag for me.
Humphrey might be doable. Unfortunately he's probably going to have to move to guard cuz you know Rick and Zimmer ain't moving off of Bradbury in the middle. But everything about him seems like exactly what you'd want in an NFL lineman. What I love most about Humphrey is his wrestling background. Wrestlers have an innate understand of leverage, which helps them play bigger than they are. And the guy is just flat-out strong, both upper body (475 bench) and lower body (700 squat). He's like the anti-Bradbury.
If Micah Parsons is available at 14 and Rick doesn't take him, I think I'll swear off the Vikings forever. Not only is this guy a freak athlete like we haven't seen at the position in a long time, he's only been a linebacker since arriving at Penn State (he was a DE in high school and switched to LB as a freshman). So he's only played 26 games at LB. The guy barely knows what he's doing, and he's already a monster. Get him some NFL coaching, and we might be looking at another Derrick Thomas.

I hope to trade down in the 1st rd and acquire an additional 2nd.
The OG class has a lot of beef and heavy hitters. I think we go after 2 OG's in the 3rd rd.
OG Trey Smith Tennessee, Ben Cleveland Georgia, Kendrick Green Illinois, Deonte Brown Bama, Royce Newman Ole Miss, Aaron Banks ND,
Tough to argue with a start to the draft of :
1st - OC Creed Humphrey
2nd - CB Asante Samuel Jr or WR Rondale Moore
3rd - OG Ben Cleveland
3rd - OG Deonte Brown

Would you still trade down if Slater is there at #14? I actually think Slater might be the best OT in the draft. Course that is JMO.
Draft could go many ways. Trading down could still land them a good edge rusher. That move would hopefully secure a 2nd round pick. (Might need to include a 4th in that trade, but IMO would be worth it)

119 - DT Tyler Shelvin LSU
125 - QB Kyle Trask Florida
134 - Edge Daelin Hayes Notre Dame
143 - S Shaun Wade Ohio State
157 - LB Garret Wallow TCU
168 - DT Marvin Wilson FSU
199 - S JaCoby Stevens LSU

David Moore and Kendrick Green are intriguing as later round developmental G prospects.
Dillon Radunz and Samuel Cosmi could be great value at Tackle in the 2nd if we end up trading back in the 1st.
There seem to be more promising T prospects later in the draft than G prospects where there don't look to be as many scheme fits who don't come with pretty big limitations.
If (big if) the Vikings are determined to fix the OL via the draft, they should probably trade back with the 1st and grab a G while adding a 2nd or 3rd in the process that could be used to move up and grab another T or G/T prospect. Immediate help at G in our scheme will probably be off the board entirely before the 2nd round is up.
