We dropped down to the 6th seed

We can't win the 2nd seed anymore. Arizona locked that up this past Sunday. Seattle is also in the mix. With they're win this past week against Baltimore. They swooped in and snatched the 5th seed. Now, we're in danger of getting kicked out of the playoffs, altogether.

EVEN IF WE WIN OUT!. IF SEATTLE WINS OUT AS WELL. They will still have the 5th seed and us the 6th. SINCE THEY HAVE THE TIE-BREAKER OVER US.

Here is Seattle's remaining schedule.

@ CLE

STL

@ ARI

Now here are the scenarios

IF we win out until Week 16, and if SEATTLE wins out until WEEK 16. The Packers seem to be untouchable at the 3rd seed until week 17 if we win out. And if we beat Green Bay WEEK 17 we will get the 3rd seed, aND PLAY THEM AT HOME if we lose to GB, we will remain at the 6th seed and play GB AT LAMBEAU FIELD

and if SEATTLE LOSES/WINS against Arizona they will have either the 6th seed and play US AT HOME IN THE WILD CARD ROUND. We all know how that went the first time around.

OR IF SEATTLE WINS AGAINST ARIZONA, THEY WILL HAVE THE 5TH SEED AND HAVE TO PLAY WASHINGTON.

The Cardinals don't have the 2nd seed locked up, if they lose two more games, and the Packers win out, the Packers would take the second seed.

Also, if you were to beat GB week 17 for the division, there is a good chance you could knock Seattle into the 6th seed and GB into the 5th.

so to conclude we need to not just win our two remaining home games, but also beat the cheese heads in the house of pain.
If we dont, one of two things happen:

We are out of the playoffs
or
We face Seattle or Green Bay at Lambeau (We are out of the playoffs)

Unless we #### the bed, we're still in the playoffs. If we win out we win the NFC North.

As is usually the case with this stuff, we need to just focus on winning our next three games. We do that we are 11-5. Then worry about where the chips fall.

As a coach would say, let's focus on beating the snot out of the Bears on Sunday. That's it.

This is what I was thinking, I am pretty sure if we win out we will be the 3rd seed.

Amen to that. The scenarios evolve every week. I just want to see the the Vikes take care of business and win.

It's all going to depend on 4 things....
Linval Joseph
Harrison smith
Anthony Barr

(and everyone else staying healthy [which is unlikely])

.....to see if we can win a single playoff game this year.

I'm fine with the six seed. It would give us a chance to end the Packers season. Or even better we could beat them week 17 to take the division then win the rematch the following week.

@eric_j_thompson According to @numberFire the #Vikings have a 90.32% to make the playoffs, 31.76% chance to win division, and 0.96% chance to win Super Bowl.

so we make it in and then what? We face the first quality team and get our butts kicked. This team is not built to win it all.

Didn't work out so well the last time - but as long as there's a chance - anything can happen.
