I thought the title was more of a hypothetical. Would not have bugged me too much. Love the guy and the player but he's got 1-2 elite years left.

Peterson is on the back side of his career. If the Vikes acquired the first pick and drafted Clowney, then followed with a quarterback at 8... That would be a good deal.

Yeah, it would be. But no team is giving up a 1 for Peterson at this point in his career. That's why it wasn't believable.

I believe a team might give up a 1st round pick *if* it weren't for Peterson's contract. And it wouldn't be in the top 2/3 of the 1st round. It would have to be a contender that sees Peterson as a big missing piece of a championship team.
