Yeah, there is a lot of football left but I wouldn't even be surprised if both the wildcards come from the NFCN this year. The good news is, we play a lot of the teams that matter so if they can win the majority of those games it's by no means over.

Yeah, and if you take away each divisions leader, there are THREE teams with more than one win and only the bears have a positive record so it's wide #### open. That means we're 1 win away from tied with 6th place and the final wild card with 13 weeks left. ^_^

last week we were going 0-16

seriously though, if we are in the East we'd be only 1 game out in the division.

I think we can score on anyone and be in games....but I think we need some seasoning, or more, defensively to be a serious threat.

Dontcha know? The difference between 0-16 and 10-6 is going from a terrible QB to a below average QB. Nothing else matters.
Couldn't agree more, it's amazing how we get that "average" QB play and the offense scores the most points by far. Suddenly the O-line barely gives up one sack, the receivers get a ton of YAC, and the defense holds onto the big lead compared to the crappy 6 point leads we had to work with before.

It makes sense to me anyway, if you're losing games by 1 point and 4 points, etc that hey, maybe a little better QB play, the most important position in sports, might make the difference.

I don't know if this counts as "playoff talk" or not, but we're currently the 13th seed (based on tie-breakers) xD. If we go 9-3 and ..... hahaha I'll just stop myself right there.

Did Ponder let Devin Hester run(return) all over him? Did Ponder let Martellus Bennett and Jordan Cameron beat him with the game on the line? Yes he threw some atrocious INTs and couldn't sustain drives, but who's to say Cassel woulda been turnover free? He got away with a few today. And it's not like they were only scoring 10 points a game with Ponder either.

FWIW I DON"T think Ponder should get his job back and Cassel is the better QB but I love how everyone is acting like we'd be 4-0 or 3-1 had Cassel been starting from week 1. 2-2 is far more likely.

well which is it? The Ponder lovers say some are horrible fans for rooting for losses and a better draft pick....and then at the same time say Cassel is only average and not the answer, so we're crazy for being happy at seeing some, ANY improvement at QB play. Well....WHICH IS IT!!!!?????

The bottom line is Ponder is a below average QB and Cassel at least approaches average.

I'm sorry for being excited about finally seeing some competent QB play. Sorry. It was fun to watch. And even if you don't like statistics, he just....as someone else pointed out in another thread (can't remember who, but it was a great post)....he just passes the eye test as compared to Ponder!!

Cassel should be the starter until he proves otherwise. It should be his job to lose.

Lol that's a good point. Crazy how they defend everything about Floater, then another QB goes out there and puts an end to all their theories ... oh ummm the o-line is bad ... oh the receivers can't get the 10yd separation required by Ponder. Nope it was the QB all along. The entire offense suddenly looked good and now they look for everything to nit pick about Cassel. My personal favorite is, Cassel shoulda had some turnovers which is some how worse than Ponder having a boat load of actual turnovers.

All I was saying is some around hate Ponder so much they think this team would be a 4-0 had Cassel started from the get-go which I highly doubt.
To your point, before we get to happy and excited, we played a NAD Steelers team.
At the same time, Cassel really seemed to make the offense look better. The next three or four games will be very interesting.
