I found that an uncomfortable article. Rather than offer assurance, it just reinforces the notion that Jennings may be well past his prime. Jennings says all the right things (I'll be amazed if he ever misplaces a word in an interview), but the tone of the article is that he's a man who is driven to prove to the world that he's still a top wide receiver. That's the sort of thing you expect to read about someone like a 38 year old T.O., not a 29 year old who just received a five year contract for $45M.

I'm not sure why you're so concerned. His attitude shows drive, desire and determination, admirable qualities. He's obviously not a guy that's going to to just rest on his numbers and cash a check. Every team needs experienced leaders, and with such an inexperienced receiving corps Jennings really is advantage. I found this part the most unsettling bit:

I prefer his attitude. We've had the anti-Jennings (Berrian, McKinnie) and I'll pass on those types. Jennings seems to be a guy that can help make the entire team better. His attitude is reminiscent of Larry Fitzgerald or even Ray Lewis.

I'm not sure what would offer assurance right now, other than production.

I'll accept the notion that he may be no longer "in" his prime, but there's little evidence to suggest he's "well past" it. I see a talented, hungry, team-first player that wants to win. There's fault in that?

I dunno, it seems to me that comparing a 29 year old to a 38 year old is kinda what is inspiring Jennings in the first place. He's only 29. Is it really that unreasonable to believe he has 3-4 solid seasons(at least) left in him? He takes great care of himself, and to top it off his character is practically impeccable when you think of what kind of guy you'd want influencing a young set of WRs.

If GB didn't have an embarrassment of riches at WR I doubt they would have cut him loose so easily. It's their loss.

This guy will pay huge dividends for the foundation of the offense beyond the numbers he puts up. Worth every penny IMO.

... only if you want to look for it. I think the tone just reinforces the reality that Jennings is a veteran with a substantial list of impressive accomplishments who is also coming off a year in which he missed a great deal of time due to injury. The impression I got from the article was that Jennings was feeling under-appreciated in Green Bay and was ready for a positive change. He seems eager to show what he can bring to a team and tired of being viewed as one of those guys the great Aaron Rodgers throws the ball to on Sundays.

Actually, I don't feel all that much sting in regard to Harvin. He didn't want to be a Viking so let him play in Seattle. I hope they crumble under high expectations and miss the playoffs altogether awhile Patterson earns ROTY honors and the Vikes win it all.

I'm not saying that's likely but it would be satisfying on quite a few levels.

I wish Harvin many small injuries and lengthy migraines.

But more than that, I care about what our guys do. I hope you're on to something with the Patterson-rookie of the year stuff.

The Vikes have had 2 of the last 6 offensive ROTY. Why not make it 3 out of 7?

Only if it affects his production (which could be substantial). Though the more I read, the less agitated I get. If this is really something problematic, Spielman may have really fleeced the 'Hawks.

WR Percy Harvin's hip injury is problematic. He is scheduled to get a second opinion and there is concern about the injury.

I'm reading that Harvin may require surgery for a labral tear.

#Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says Harvin has a hip issue that cropped up in a workout a week ago.

Carroll says Harvin will get a second opinion. Surgery "may be" considered. In area of labral tear. "We need to get more information."

Wow that's an odd coincidence about Percy Rice's hip.

I can't wish the guy any ill will. He made a choice not to be here and the Vikes got a GREAT deal for him. I think he is a super phenomenal athlete like AD and want him to do great things cause I enjoy watching him play. I want him to be healthy when the Vikes play Seattle so our DBs can rise up stuff him.

And if karma wants to come in and wreak a little havoc on the situation...so be it. I just hope we are clear in that department when it comes to Winfield.
