Vikings start around 49 minutes. Not a fan of the host. Talks all three first rounders. You'll like the things he says about Floyd. Worth a listen.

On the Minnesota Vikings' first-round pick (one of three), Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson: "I'm sure they took Patterson with their third first-round pick because he was the best player on their board. But in a sense, you could argue that he's a bigger Percy Harvin. I don't think he's as good as Percy Harvin as a receiver, and he's much better at this point in time with the ball in his hands than he is as a route-runner. He needs to be taught that. Now, that can be done, and it's up to, 'How does he learn, and how is he coached?' But [given] the fact that he's 6-foot-2 and 216 pounds, you realize that his movement skills with the ball in his hands are pretty special."

Very interesting what Cosell says about what the Vikings are going to do some this year starting at 58:28. I kinda doubt this, but it's interesting to...well...Ponder
Read option with two backs. Peterson lined up with Patterson motioning over to create "tremendous stress on a defense." Cosell guarantees the Vikings are working on this.
Ponder is athletic enough to run this (though an argument can be made for Webb being a perhaps better choice).
Also likes Hodges a lot, with similarities to NaVorro Bowman.

I enjoyed that, thanks for posting it. Worthwhile comments on almost all of our draft picks.

I wonder if sometimes it's actually a benefit if the player is good enough. Which is going to be a small percentage of all players. But when you can get underneath guys and still be able to make leverage, and pull off some moves, it's no longer a draw back. Obviously you have to get inside those long lean offensive linemen, but if you can pull it off, they're going to be in trouble.
Let's hope Floyd can, and personally I think he'll be just fine. Hopefully they start him in the rotation early and often.
I hope they also give Hodges a good look, or he does enough to deserve a look. I don't think it'd really be that big of a stretch to say he might be the best coverage linebacker we have. But we won't know. And no clue if he'll get a chance at any point.
