These charts are always interesting. They've been updated for 2013, currently showing the full 90 man offseason roster, including college UDFAs and all the rest. Hasn't been updated with Desmond Bishop yet.

I find the following particularly interesting:
- how few players remain from prior to the 2010 draft.
- the realization that Adrian Peterson is one of the oldest players on an otherwise very young team.
- how few players were acquired via trade or waivers.
- the college UDFAs that have stuck.
- how many players remain from the 2011+ Vikings drafts. Those are some good looking drafts, but we can't help but see some of these players begin to get displaced. Guys like D'Aundre Reed, Brandon Burton, Stephen Burton.

Thanks for posting the link it was quite interesting and points out the fact that this organization has done a great job using the draft.

It gets even more interesting when you begin to compare what the Vikings have done to how some other teams have been assembled. A few teams are almost exclusively put together via the draft. Some teams have many more veteran in-house draft picks along with fewer numbers of recent picks - obviously not in rebuilding mode. Some teams are heavily reliant on free agent signings.

I like what the Vikes has done in the past few years in putting the team together.
And in five years we can see how well it worked out.
Instead we got 3 steals of the draft and are on our way to super bowl and built through the draft and SUPER BOWL HOMEBOY!

It would be interesting to see how the Vikings compare in composition to all other teams, then teams in the NFC North, and then how roster composition correlates to record, or, perhaps more interestingly, a predictor of future success.
I would expect the majority of teams to be relatively young and composed of a high percentage of draft picks. Successful teams would probably have a higher percentage of older players as well. In fact, a likely marker for a more successful team would probably be a much higher percentage of drafted vets at key positions like QB, DE, WR, and maybe CB.
