Have heard Matt Kalil has been among most impressive guys in terms of remaking body in offseason. Jacked. pic.twitter.com/Zy2ef78UlM

What a day for minicamp. Vikings open with special teams and rookie Jeff Locke punting. Simpson, Wright, Patterson, Sherels on returns
Childs is always watching, stretching. Taped up like he might jump in at any moment. pic.twitter.com/ruBejFadmf

I'd be wondering and worrying a little about Matt Kalil. Lots of stories last year about how he struggled to keep his weight up; having to eat 24x7 and stuff down something like 7000 calories a day. It sometimes amazes me how some 23 year old kids, with the resources of an entire NFL team's strength and conditioning staff, have so much difficulty packing on muscle. Looks like Kalil has cleared that hurdle.

BTW, that picture is a little mind-boggling. Kalil and the others look like a couple of average 6 ft tall Joe Sixpacks standing around the sideline at a Saturday flag football game. Then you realize Kalil is 6' 6", as is Troy Kropog standing next to him. The guy behind 6' 4" DeMarcus Love is even taller. I'm guessing it may be 6' 7" Kevin Murphy.

Rookie running back Bradley Randle has a little bit of wiggle and outside burst to him. Interested to see him in pads. #Vikings

Game situation field goal attempt for Walsh is good from 46 yards. Had enough for 66.

Now getting our first 2-minute periods we've seen all spring. Always interesting I see how guys respond. #Vikings
First string offense got a third down DPI on Cook, gained one other first down on a fourth down corner to Simpson. Defense with edge.
Second string gets moving on a helluva snare by John Carlson. 33-yard gain from Cassel.
.. but that drill ends on three straight incompletions (one dropped) and a sack.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson and the threes get the job done, driving for a 41-yard Walsh field goal. Key completion to (of course) Adam Thielen.

Something we hadn't seen to this point: a drop by Joe Webb.

Frazier on John Sullivan being ready for training camp: "From what I’ve been told, there should not be any restrictions, but we’ll see."

Well clearly we are screwed. None of those posts mentioned anything about Ponder wearing a red cape and having a big "S" on the front of his shirt.

Wobby's take: http://bit.ly/11MYGig

Nice video with Childs at the bottom.

Curious that Robinson isn't practicing with the special teams unit.

Pelissero's notebook from day 1: http://www.1500espn.com/sportswire/Note ... ings061813

Excerpt:
Helping out

Joe Webb said he's helping more than himself with his transition from quarterback to receiver.

"They come to me, especially the young bucks," Webb said. "I try to work with all the guys, give them all my knowledge from quarterbacking, coverage, holes in the defense, stuff like that."

Webb, who played quarterback for his first three seasons with the Vikings, said he has taken Patterson under his wing -- making sure to point out defensive looks to him while they're not in the play.

"I've been helping Cordarrelle out a lot, especially with the offense," Webb said. "Keeping him updated on what defenses like to do against certain routes."

Webb had his first drop in front of reporters on a comeback route in 7-on-7.

Day 2
Returning kicks, in order: Patterson, Sherels, Robinson, Jefferson, Webb. #Vikings
Haven't seen Adrian Peterson today but I do know he was in the building today.
FWIW, I don't see Desmond Bishop out here.
