Wallace Vs. Jennings: NFL.com weighs in--bigger impact?

I didn't see this posted here (I know there's a lot of Jennings threads, and plenty of posters that get their undies in a bundle for new threads that they think are redundant).

Overall, they are not too high on Ponder or Jennings' chances to succeed. Adam Rank, in particular, is very negative:
"Jennings is in for a rude awakening in Minnesota
Greg Jennings will find life difficult going from Aaron Rodgers to Christian Ponder and/or Matt Cassel. It reminds me of an actor who wants to leave TV for the movies, but ultimately regrets it. Only in this case, Jennings is leaving a summer blockbuster to appear on a local cable show. "

Ponder and boys just need to use comments like these as motivation.

He's one of the writers in the link. Do you know him or just find his name to be curious? I personally think his opinion stinks, just like his last name.

Rank is on the NFL Network Fantasy Football show and 1.) He's an awful Fantasy analyst. Just crap
2.) He has a gerbil chin beard. Never trust anyone like that

I've never heard of him...which isn't saying much.
But somehow I think that he's not as fluent in his Viking knowledge than most of the peeps here.
Either way it'll all come out when the games start and until then there will be lots of opinions. I would think common sense suggests that Jennings will not put his GB #'s in Minny, but that would have more to do with styles of offense and AD than Ponder not being Rodgers IMO.

I hardly ever watch any TV, so I guess I was foolish to quote someone who is, apparently, a known idiot. For what it's worth, there are some writers at the link that seem to offer a worthwhile perspective, better than what I see at ESPN.

It's kind of funny reading this ... it really has nothing at all to do with the receivers they're discussing.
For them it all comes down to the QB and the WR skills are almost irrelevant.

From the Video and the write up, I get the sense that national media doesn't have a full picture of Ponder's performance last year. He did, indeed, suck at times... but his play down the stretch was clutch and those were pretty high-profile games.
I agree that time will tell. This is the year that Ponder has to show up.

so, if his analysis is concerning fantasy production then I would think he's stating the obvious. I think his analogy is a bit ridiculous...but so are gerbil chin beards.

That's what caught my attention too. A couple of the writers made sweeping comments to the effect that Tannehill was clearly a franchise QB while Ponder was still quite possibly going to be considered a bust.

Jennings knows more then anyone the difference between Ponder and Rogers. And between the offenses. And yet Ricky still picked him, and Jennings still signed up. Should be an interesting season.

I hope that Jenning's confidence and leadership abilities can transcend the locker room and onto the field for game day! The guy sure is charismatic.

He knows the difference the check he's getting here, and the one he would have got in Green Bay is what he knows...
