He was asked which non-qb deserves the award. He said JJ Watt.

Spoken like a true ex-defensive lineman.

For somebody who is recognized as a smart, respected football analyst, you can't be that stupid.

Though, Mike Greenberg said his outright MVP would be AD.

I agree about Brady, but manning came back from a serious injury and is performing unbelievably good this year.

What AD has done through his injury is much more impressive in my opinion.

I think what AD did was very impressive too, but I believe they have done equally as good so far. If AD breaks the record, I say he should definitely get MVP.

I am curious, what makes you think AD's accomplishments are more impressive than Manning?

I know that wasn't directed at me but I have an answer;

Not that I am downplaying Manning's injury, it was certainly serious ... but even though his head is quite large, him having to support it isn't quite the same as Peterson cutting, getting hit nearly every time he touches the ball, etc. Mannings *might* be more impressive if he had to take a hit on 85% of his plays.

Even then I think Peterson gets the nod. Lets say Manning's neck was equally as difficult to come back from and has just as high of a liklihood of reinjury ... Peterson is also leading the league and on record setting pace.

Manning was out of football for an entire season. AP came back and didn't skip a beat. Granted these are two very different injuries but for AP to comeback and play as good as he has is very 'insane'.

Not to mention, Manning has won it 4 times already. He stole it from a Viking (Culpepper) once already. I mean, c'mon, throw AD a friggin' bone here.

Here's an idea. Put the MVP trophy in a room with Adrian Peterson and Peyton Manning. Tell them that only one can have the award and they have to fight it out to decide who it will be. Lock the door and wait for maybe...five seconds. When Peterson walks out of the room with the trophy in his hands, then the media can take their pics and do interviews.

here's my 2 cents. both athletes are incredible and both worthy of both the comback player AND the mvp. i like ap better because he missed ONE game after tearing his acl and mcl. manning missed an entire season healing so i think coming back from his injury wasn't as remarkable simply because the time it took.

also, manning is on a much better team than AD. hell...tim tebow got that team in the playoffs last year and even won a game. you just knew that when they added peyton manning they were going to be a damn tough team. he has a pretty decent running game to really open up the pass. AD has nothing. he sees 10 man fronts regularly with no threat to pass.

Very good post. After reading that im thinking more that AD should get MVP.
