I agree with you. Plus I have a suspicion that the coaching staff doesn't believe what they are saying about Ponder. They have eyes, but if your QB obviously has a confidence problem are they going to try to correct that by saying, "Our QB stinks!"? I would suggest if Ponder can't get his confidence back after getting so much support from the coaching staff, he never will. I could be wrong, but I think Ponder finishes out the year. If he finishes 6-10 with his play 'leveled' at the performance we've seen the last few games, I'm guessing we'll have a new QB next year. The Vikings have that core list of guys like Adrian, Percy, Greenway, Jared, Winfield, etc. Ponder was very solid in our win streak, even if not great. That's all we need, a SOLID consistent QB and gradual improvement takes over from there and we can be a top team again. I have complete faith in that and I think our winning streak this season showed what is possible for us. But I don't think Ponder is the guy to do it.
