The saddest part is how some members of this board just keep looking at the negative side no matter what happened.
The Vikings were the better team today versus the Lions. One of the dropped pass was caused by a smart rookie who knew even if the ball is caught in the end zone, the receiver needs to show possession. The kid put his helmet on the ball, it came out. The Lions receiver were seeing his ghost all game long. Give the Vikings secondary a little credit folks, c'mon.

The offense today doesn't worry me entirely, they were shut down early and had trouble finding a rhythm. Their main form of gaining momentum is those short throws to Harvin but those never worked today. Peterson did what he has always done against the Lions, Winfield had touched the ball today more then their entire defense did last year.
I'd rather win despite having an anemic offense then lose despite having an amazing offense.

Haven't seen many negative posts, especially about the defense. I think everyone seems pretty satisfied.

The Vikings are better than most people expected. I don't know, however, that they've done much yet to qualify themselves as "good". They haven't played anyone of note, and they did lose to the Colts.
There were some fans who warned that the Vikings could start the season 6-2 or even 7-1, then do a nosedive. The first part of that prediction now appears to be playing itself out. But be forewarned that the second half of the schedule looks nothing like the first.

Really. The 49ers were 2-0 and off an NFC Championship Game appearance. That's notable at the very least.

If the 49ers aren't "of note", who does that leave?

Nothing matters anyway, everyone knows it will be a Texans/Cardinals Super Bowl anyway.

When were the 49ers ever Super Bowl favorites? Maybe for all of five days when they were power ranking darlings before the Vikings destroyed them.

They are about as notable as it gets at the time and still after crushing the Jets, I don't see your point.

Well, the majority of reputable NFL analysts chose them. I'm not just talking about talking heads at ESPN.
