Anyone see the last play of the MNF game? Wow! You think the refs made some bad calls in our game, at least it didn't cost us the game!

It was called exactly the way the rulebook says, both players had both hands on the ball, when they hit the ground, by rule the catch goes to the offense.TreyDay wrote:Anyone see the last play of the MNF game? Look, I'm happy the Packers lost because it helps the Vikings, but just prior to Tate getting his hands on the ball he blatantly pushed off to be in position to do that. If you're going to quote rule and verse, that's offensive pass interference and Tate should not be rewarded for it.me4get wrote: It was called exactly the way the rulebook says, both players had both hands on the ball, when they hit the ground, by rule the catch goes to the offense.
I completely disagree. It was an apperent Int. Jenkinkins had full possesion with the ball tucked into his chest. Tate had just one hand on the ball. Being a Vikings fan I'm laughing my #### off, but honestly it should have been a Packers win.me4get wrote: It was called exactly the way the rulebook says, both players had both hands on the ball, when they hit the ground, by rule the catch goes to the offense.
I'm guessing you might catch a replay in the coming days. There might be a discussion about the play. Just a guess, though.Purplemania wrote:What happened? I didn't see the game. LOL I'm happy to see them lose, but ughhh it's never a good thing when team loses due to officiating.

and the pack was getting away with the same thing. Twice they were offsides and no call on that drive.VikingLord wrote: Look, I'm happy the Packers lost because it helps the Vikings, but just prior to Tate getting his hands on the ball he blatantly pushed off to be in position to do that. No such thing as full possession on a simultaneous reception. both players had possession, and by rule it a offensive catch.TreyDay wrote: I completely disagree. It was an apperent Int. I thought so too at first, but when they read the rule simultaneous doesn't count if one player has possession first. Which Jennings did.me4get wrote: I completely disagree. It was an apperent Int. Item 5: Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.
Agree. Terrible ending to a NFL game.Purple bruise wrote:I doubt that anyone on this board dislikes the Packers more than I do but.....Not since Drew Pearson have I seen such a bad no call. Golden Tate clearly pushed the defender down and then went up and got a small portion of the ball which was clearly intercepted by a Packer defender. There was no simultaneous catch by any stretch of any imagination.
These officials suck beyond imagination.
