Do you think they meant NFC Championship rings?Through 16 seasons and four Super Bowls, Hilgenberg had played a vicious game with a devil-may-care attitude. On the last Christmas he was alive, confined to a wheelchair and slipping to a point where he could only communicate by blinking his eyes, he gave each of his four children one of his Super Bowl rings.
No, they meant Super Bowl rings because later in the article they specifically referred to one of the children getting the ring from the Vikings/Steelers Super Bowl game. Both the winning and losing Super Bowl teams receive rings. The rings for the losing team can't exceed half the cost of the rings for the winning team but both teams receive rings, presumably as recognition of their achievement in reaching and playing in the Super Bowl at all.Knoxx wrote:Interesting read. I'm really confused by this quote though.

You're welcome. It's a little known fact and I wasn't aware of it myself until a few years ago.Knoxx wrote:Thanks Mothman
