1. I think they need to keep Moreles on the roster when Mauer comes back, and maybe Redmond could be released/traded/put on the coaching staff. How can you send this kid down when he is playing as well as he has been?
2. I am rapidly falling off the Delmon Young bandwagon, although I am equally falling off the Cuddyer bandwagon. The only reason I lean towards Cuddyer is his arm in RF. I think Young should be sent down to work on his batting.
3. Joe Crede has three more weeks to get his act together. His defense is great, his hitting, where we need the most help, is atrocious. If not, trade for Adrian Beltre, and give up Young if needed. But like I said, let's wait for a month or so.
4. Whatever happened to having Gomez, Span, Punto, and Casilla bunt? Have either of them even attempted a bunt this season?
They look good at times, but boy, they look like a minor league at times as well. There is no reason they shouldn't win the Central this season, even with Detroit playing better.

Guess there isn't as much interest in the Tinkies as I thought??

I'll watch them occasionally, listen to them when they have day games, but that's about it. Actually discussing the team would involve more negativity then any Vikings post I've ever made.

I root for Boston Red Sox mostly because they are the main rival to the Yankees.
the Yankees are cheating evil franchise that deserve everything they get.

I am going to keep this thread alive!!!
Boy, does our bullpen SUCK or what? Do any of them have an ERA under 5?
And when do we send Delmon Young, Carlos Gomez, and Brian Buscher, down to the minors and get someone up here who is interested in hitting the ball? I like Gardenhire, but he needs to play the people who deserve to play and sit some of these one-good-week-and-done players.

Impatient; aren't we? Give it time. It's early -- there's still 137 games left. Remember, baseball is a marathon, compared to the sprint which is football. And, it's about time the starting staff pulled their own weight. Last year, it was the bullpen that kept us in it. The hitting will come around, just wait.
The Twins will be there in the end. Have faith.

Well, Liriano looked good last night. If only Baker can turn himself around... we have a very good rotation, we just need a bullpen. And one more real outfielder.

Wow, the Twins need bullpen help. Fast. I think we need to trade someone for some help, maybe trade Punto or even Redmond and a minor leaguer. If we could get our bullpen back on track, I think we could easily win the Central. We finally have offense, defense, and our starters are doing well also, especially Blackburn. Get us some bullpen help, Mr. Smith, fast!!!

How about just letting the starters go 8 innings? Then bring in Nathan for the 9th. We've run into trouble when, for some inexplicable reason, they pull the starter in the 8th and put a reliever in. Why? Let the starter pitch the whole darn game if he can!

True, especially with Blackburn last Sunday. But then, their pitch count will be over 100

most of the time, however, our starters have really dropped off in performance later in the games. I think our answer here is to get a legit bullpen man that could set up nathan, not overworking the starters.

It's great to have Mauer back. He's arguably the best hitter in the league, and has been on a tear since coming back. The one-two punch of Mauer and Morneau is enough to make any pitcher shake in their cleats. We have some other guys on the team that seriously need to pick up the pace on the offensive side though...Punto, Gomez, and Tolbert (Casilla's replacement) are pitiful. It would be nice to see them swing a trade to add another solid bat to the lineup, but historically that's not how the Twins operate.
As far as the relievers, ya...not so good. Early on that Jose Mijares looked really good, coming in as a set-up man and striking out the side. In recent weeks he's looked more human though.

Are you #### kidding me? Can it be that difficult to beat the Yankees? They are a freakin senior citizen team for Christ's sake.
