Anybody have one? I bought one about six weeks ago and I am hooked. Never thought of Amazon as a technology innovator in the same sense as Apple, but the Kindle 2 is just the type of amazing technology that you'd expect from a company like Apple.

Reading from it is completely different than reading from a computer screen. Much easier on the eyes and for whatever reason ... it's a more enjoyable experience. You can download books in about a minute and it holds a gazillion copies.

I think this technology is going to revolutionize how we read books. For myself I know that I will most likely be reading much more than I have in the past just because of the convenience this gadget brings to the table. If you like to read it's a great investment. If you don't read much but want to read more, this might be the way to accomplish that.

Kudos to Amazon for coming up with this innovation that really works.

One other benefit of buying the Kindle 2. You might spend less time on football message boards and more time reading to improve your intellect. That's a good thing; not a bad thing.

just sayin

I hear that, I'll have to look into it.

on the other hand though, i love just having a book in my hands and shelves full of books. to me Kindle could never replace that, but could be a handy, useful gadget. Heck, I have an mp3 player but I also have a wall full of vinyl records. I love that kind of thing, but the mp3 player sure it great when I'm at work.

I like the feel of a real book in my hands, too. But this technology could be useful when taking a long trip. You could put several books on it and not have to worry about not being in the mood for the book you brought with. And it would save space in your bags!

But, for me, nothing will replace the visual representation of your reading habits more than a bookcase full of books.
