Wonder if Ziggy has any exposure to ponzi scheme artist Bernie Madoff? Article in the NY Times business section yesterday detailed a sizable concentration of NY area Jewish real estate tycoons who invested heavily with Madoff. It's a tight knit community and unfortunately Madoff appears to have used his religious affiliations to recruit investors. Hope Ziggy avoided this guy but I wonder if we'll ever know? As a related matter ... I wonder how Ziggy's financial condition is these days? He's big into shopping malls and other commercial real estate and that sector is starting to rollover. It begs the question if he's still in a position to contribute the same amount of funds towards a new stadium that he previously said he would. I doubt it. I think he's stuck with the Metrodome for years to come. If he is in a cash crunch that will certainly affect what we do in free agency next year.

I've been wondering the same thing regarding Madoff. But further, about his ability to participate in any stadium deal (he'd have to come up with a couple hundred mil.). If he doesn't make the usual push at the legislature that will be a clue.
