If they moved, I think my fandom would end there. I also doubt they'd be the L.A. Vikings, at least not for long. There's so much potential money in a name/uniform/logo change that they'd probably make one before too long.

However, that's putting the cart before the horse. Hopefully, the Vikings aren't going anywhere but back to the playoffs in a year or two! :)

I was starting to get into watching the North Stars then they moved and haven't watched hockey since. I feel it will be the same for the Vikes. I may have been married to them for 40 years but if they leave I'm done for good on the NFL.

Maybe I'll change my orientation and start watching soccer.

zygi has said he has no intention of moving the team. it also sounds like he will not build a stadium in minneapolis. just get the deal done already. if the vikings leave, we will be spending hundreds of millions more bringing a team back in 5-10 years. anyone who opposes the dollar or two a year it will cost them can go cry a river.

Why is there an all-new thread for this?

If it doesn't get done, and they move, I'm hoping the team changes it's name ASAP. That way, the bafoons of Minnesota can pay 3x's the amount to get the Vikings back. I see a sweet $3 billion dollar stadium being built in 2018. If not, we'll all be cheering for the Minnesota Snow, or maybe the Minnesota Loons or some other stupid name. :wallbang: Oh, wait....I'll have moved away from the state by then and won't ever be watching the NFL again. Similar to how I don't watch the NHL anymore after watching every Northstars game I could as a child. Welcome to Minnesota....Don't drink the water.

If the Vikings move, Minnesota will never get a new team in Minnesota

I don't live in Minnesota so the tax doesn't affect me, but I would gladly pay a bit extra tax if it meant an NFL team here in Utah.(I realize the state isn't big enough, just wishing here). Losing a pretty well supported Pro team would suck.

It is mind boggling that the crappy Gophers who has been terrible for a long time get a new stadium while the Vikings have been good for a long time might not get one :wallbang:

"I think its very obvious we want to be in LA. We would like to see a franchise there. Some of us have been working for most of our NFL careers to see if we can crack that code. I'll describe the key elements of that code, that have been difficult if not impossible to crack. We couldn't find a site, we couldn't find the financing, and we couldn't find the enabling legislation to get through the various road blocks. We now have two sites, We believe both those sites could be financed. One of those sites has landmark legislation that stream-lines the process. Don't know if it's shovel ready, but it's close. And, the second site is working on legislation to stream-line the process. So the missing element is now a franchise. In my memory, this is the first time when all elements except the franchise have been assembled." - Eric Grubman, NFL VP talking to Minneapolis press at the State Capitol 10/18/11

Get a stadium done or else! I bet it will never get done so enjoy your last year as a Viking fan! :wallbang:
