I am pretty sure if he said it, he meant that if it took longer to construct it would not be an issue. I don't think he meant if it takes another year to get approved. And why would he wait? The Vikings have been pushing for a new stadium for 10 years or so, and the only thing they keep hearing is "Now is not a good time". So when the time comes, the Vikings will be gone.
Well, he said it. I read the quote. Dont really give a #### if you believe it or not.

Dude, he was just adding to the conversation and explaining what he thought it meant. Chill out.

Just so I get this straight. The Vikings want a new stadium. If built, the stadium will be owned by the people of MN. The people of MN are being asked to contribute $600 million while the Vikings are going to put $400 million into a building they don't own and will have to sign a lease to play in. Other groups will be allowed to use the stadium when the Vikings are not playing. Did I get that right? So, if the Vikings sign a 30 year lease, play at an average of 11 games a year, if they make the playoffs on a regular basis, they will pay $1.39 million per game to help build the stadium. I wonder, of the other groups who are going to use it, how much will they pay? Just a thought.

if Zygi moves the team (or sells to a new owner who moves the team--which is more likely) I'll put zero-percent of the blame on him. He's offered more of his own $ than pretty much any owner ever for this project

Minnesota governor Mark Dayton is holding meetings this week on a new Vikings stadium and said Monday that he intends to call a special legislative session focused on the stadium next month.
The session, which would run from November 21-23, would only take place if a plan for the stadium is in place. Per Jeff Anderson, Vikings director of corporate communications, Dayton will ask NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for his support for the session.
Well, good luck. Hopefully those republicans out there trying to sabotage it finally see the light. Good job Governor Dayton for finally leading the way, after 8 years of Pawlenty ignoring the Vikings completely.

I know what you mean, but it wasn't Dayton before. I just hope he can get the deal done. If he does, I will kiss him on the lips...

Now's the time to email your legislators again. It's pretty much now or never once this session hits.

IF Dayton calls a special session, that means its a done deal, he said he wouldnt call a special session if it wasnt going to pass.

I thought he just said he doesn't care if he has the votes or not. He's just sick of this thing going around in circles and getting nowhere, so he's basically setting a deadline for a deal to be in place so that the legislators can know what they're voting on.

Hmm, maybe I mis-read it or he has since changed his stance. But I swear I read that he will only call a special session if he has the votes.........either way, youre right, the time is likely now or never.

Just watched the video on vikings.com
Now I know there is a whole thread about stadium issues but I don't feel like browsing through 30 pages.
Pretty much what I got from it is they got the session they needed and if it doesn't get done in 5 weeks, thats the end of the MINNESOTA Vikings.
BUUUTT, according to Bagely, its looking really good to get done.
Am I right?
I live in California, but I never want the Vikings to leave Minnesota. I can't be a fan of an organization that abandons the local fan base.
Plus, LA fans are the worst. Probably worse than Philly fans.

yup. I live in Fresno, I'm a SF Giants and Boston Celtics fan so im destined to hate all LA teams but aside from that, LA fans typically just go to games to f*ck sh*t up.

I might watch them short term, until guys like AD, Allen, Williams and such move on, so Id be a fan of a few of the players, not the team. Once the roster turned, zero interest in LA Vikings. None.
As far as the stadium getting done, Id say its about 50/50 right now. Neither outcome would really surprise me. IF I were to bet, Id bet on them leaving.
