Saints got a 5th for Grubbs (I think that's #146). Grubbs is three years younger than Mathis. Mathis turns 34 in November. I think they are pretty comparable players.

We've got #129 (first in the 5th round) and #141.

If the Eagles would take our second 5th rounder, I think I'd do that deal. Issue is the age on Mathis. At 34, that's a time when players start to break down.

Given the way it was written I think they're simply talking about Johnson's release/availability.
It's probably someone within an NFL front office that wishes to remain anonymous. The reporters grant them anonymity to keep them as a source for information. Heck, even Schefter or Mort don't use names. They all just quote "sources" unless it's a press conference or other public event.
I love angry Jim.
A source close to the situation said that was a glimpse into my "waited too long to eat lunch" state of mind. :)

I realize why they all want to be anonymous. I just think it's gone beyond being an understandable practice that protects sources to something that's become almost comical, mainly because it's so widespread.

For fun, I've decided to believe Zimmer himself was the source for this Tomasson quote and I imagine an exchange like this took place:

Tomasson: "Mike, are you concerned about Johnson after he had a down year in Tampa Bay?"

Angry Zimmer: "No, I know how to use him all over the #@*% field."

Most likely alligator clip-like "nodes" that they hook up and attach to beard and chest hairs. From what I just read, the sweat beads and runs down the follicle of each clamped hair grouping, and just before the "sweat bead" reaches the "node" it reacts with reflected light (which is either sun in an open stadium or artificial in a domed stadium. Which is what produces Gristle factor A and B) the intensity of this light reflection from the beads of sweat produce what is known as and called "Gristle".

I really believe that'll happen if he comes here. This isn't the typical case of teams or coaches thinking they're better than others and can fix a flawed player. Not only is Zimmer proven but he has actually had a lot of success with Johnson before. People were expecting monster sack numbers from him after he signed the big contract but his main strength is as a run defender. His sacks, hits, pressure, etc will come off what others are doing. As Zimmer said many times, for him sacks are a team stat. Johnson will help the run D and get his numbers if Griffen and Floyd are creating havoc on the other side, like we all expect them to do.

Murray to Philly.

You guys ready to hear all of the Adrian Peterson to Dallas rumors now? SMFH. This is going to suck.
Lol, yep. This was the first thing I read online today, which meant I started out my day rolling my eyes "Oh sheesh! Here we go."

I just hate when stories like this, get so much attention, cause 80% of the time it's people just straight up making stuff up. Just to be a part of it. And people believe all the crap they read, just to be a part of it. When of anyone actually paid any attention to the "whole" of what they read as opposed to everyone always only Hearing what they want to hear. (And this is with everything now, from football to oodles of noodles additives) then we'd all see how unlikely this is, and we could have better conversations about 10 better things.

Texans signed FS Rahim Moore to a three-year, $12 million contract.
According to ESPN, the Redskins and free agent S Taylor Mays have "mutual interest."

Any idea who actually said this? Earlier today someone (Tomasson maybe) tweeted it was going to be Bengals or Vikings for him.

Are you talking Mays or Johnson?

This was reported by John Keim.

...to be fair though, I'm actually kind of giggly excited for the possibility of both or either one of these two. Way more than any other FA

...fingers crossed.

Glad we didn't sign Rahim Moore - looks like he didn't get 'priced out' either - I think we simply weren't interested.

I was talking about Mays. I was referring to this from earlier:

Chris Tomasson @christomasson
Solomon Wilcots says he believes free-agent safety Taylor Mays will either re-sign with the Bengals or go to Minnesota to join Mike Zimmer

https://twitter.com/christomasson/statu ... 2985282561

So I guess it wasn't an actual report. Just Wilcots' opinion.

..so, if we work a deal with Michael Johnson. Would that be like "Williams Wall 2.0" But a "Johnson Wall" or "Johnson Duo" , " 2 Johnson's" ??

Our defenses 2 big Johnson's!....

LOL -

-sorry for acting like an immature 13 year old. But...i mean.
