Nice!!!!! I wanted to tell this guy about himself but he's not worth it. HOPEFULLY, the mods cant see that im not trolling. Everytime I post something, guys like PurpleMustReign always have some slick to say. But I don't even bother posters on here. Im a good guy. But when I make a post that people don't agree with or post that have apparently been discussed already, people have no problem being a jerk about the situation. But it doesn't matter.
I don't care who likes me or not. Im here to discuss Vikes football. If I wanna make a 10000 threads about Ponder, then im going to do it. If I wanna talk about Greg Chids 100000 times, im gonna do it. Users like PurpleMustReign will just have to get over it, or put me on his ignore list.

On an unusually cool and blustery day at training camp, quarterbacks and receivers had an extra challenge to overcome in synching up their timing. But one of the highlights of Friday’s practice came when receiver Joe Webb hauled in a deep ball from Matt Cassel between solid coverage from Xavier Rhodes and Robert Blanton.
“A couple more of those and I’ll be good,” Webb said.
Webb continues to impress with his athleticism and hands as he continues his conversion from quarterback.
“He can catch the ball,” veteran Greg Jennings said. “And that’s the first hurdle. If you can’t catch, you can’t be taught.”
Webb admitted he still has plenty of work to do in refining his route running, learning to be smoother in and out of breaks while also correcting the motions that tip his routes.
But his understanding of the position seems to be growing.
“He’ll notice the little things without someone telling him,” Jennings said. “Which lets me know he’s willing to work to improve, to really home in on the skills that it takes to perform at a high level at this position.”

@Andrew_Krammer: Special teams coach Priefer said CP84 is the top option at kick returner.

@Andrew_Krammer: Priefer wouldn't name anyone, but said he's told Walsh of several examples of sophomore slumps in the league for kickers @Andrew_Krammer: and the pair sat down this spring to watch ever kick (PAT, FG, Kickoff) and evaluated what he needs to improve on. #Vikings

Overall, I'm really liking the little tidbits about Simpson.
I'm excited to see what he can do this year, actually being healthy and whatnot.

Offense seemed to struggle today. Ponder with a couple picks (1 to Henderson) and some dropped balls. Not unusual for the defense to be ahead of the offense at this stage in camp. Next week they put on the pads so we should be able to see more.

At least Henderson should be an upgrade in coverage over what we've had. Still can't believe he lost that nickel spot to Brinkley. Probably didn't engage blockers well enough for Frazier.
Ponder being a headcase. So what's new. This team won't contend for more than the last wild card spot with him leading it. Wasting Peterson like Lions wasted Sanders. Vikings need to be serious about the position. They should have at least brought in a couple young guys to compete for that #3 spot.

what they should do is name matt cassel the starter. i agree with demi, ponder will lead this team nowhere and adrian only has so much left in the tank.

Cassel is Ponder before Ponder. Neither of them can make plays. Cassel probably a better chance. But "not turning the ball over" doesn't win games. Scoring points does.

cassel has been worse than ponder, so thats not promising. although its early and most reports say the receivers are drifting from routes and throwing timing off, especially with patterson and wright. im guessing its just the early dust that needs to be worked out

Im trying my best to remain optimistic about Ponder. Maybe it's still too early but from what I've read, there has not been (m)any noticeable improvements from Ponder.

It IS too early to worry about that. The season is a month and a half away and the players are practicing in shorts, without pads. Ponder and the other QBs need some time to settle in, get on the same page with receivers, etc. After all, the point of practicing anything is to improve.
He'll get better.
The next line after the one that caused you to bang your virtual head was: "Simpson is once again shining in camp scrimmages.
Ponder fits ball in tight window for 3rd down conversion". A good play!
