That hardly mattered in the preseason and during camp. Just get it in his area. Ponder's confidence going to him even if covered a bit outside the red zone has seemed to evaporate. Granted he's a bit slower than Harvin so that means the O-line would have to hold their blocks for more than a heartbeat.Purplemania wrote: Good catcher, but not athletic enough to separate from defenders.

Fusco at RG and Schwartz at LG (or vice-versa)? Can't be any worse.PurpleKoolaid wrote:IS Johnson really all the Vikes have? He wasnt a good LT and he isnt a good guard, fire him.

You know, we are 5-3. People think we should be 2-6! We beat the 49ers! I still won't be surprised to see us with 9-10 wins at the end of the season.

Ponder and Johnson are the weakest link. We replace them with good players, we make first downs, AD gets more yards, our D gets more rest. At this point I dont see a WR being the answer. nor was Carlson. Spielman makes as many bonehead moves as good ones.

He was targeted once tonight... he caught it for 12 yds. He can't catch it when Ponder doesn't throw it to him.Purplemania wrote: Good catcher, but not athletic enough to separate from defenders.

I give TB credit, they got beat by a better team today, I don't care what the record says.
I'm still proud of this team. They are still a surprise to me. They have a lot of good pieces in place, today they played a like a young team.
Go Vikings!

I will be very surprised if that happens.Eliot wrote:You know, we are 5-3. People think we should be 2-6! We beat the 49ers! I still won't be surprised to see us with 9-10 wins at the end of the season.

They have Schwartz who was pretty darn good when healthy.PurpleKoolaid wrote:IS Johnson really all the Vikes have? He wasnt a good LT and he isnt a good guard, fire him.

Thats what I fear .lateral23 wrote:This game exposes the Vikings for what they are: A bad team. I have been hesitant to get excited about our record thus far and this is why. This is exactly how I imagined the outcome of this game. I wish it were different, but if this is how we enter the stretch before the bye, and expose our glaring weaknesses, we are going to get killed after the bye.

Re: Buccaneers @ Vikings Gameday Discussion Thread -- Week 8
With the game we saw tonite how is it possible to think we will be able to win against Seattle, Chicago, G.B, Houston I think 2 more wins is about the max we can expect but 7-9 is a 4 game improvement over last year which is what most expected .lateral23 wrote:This game exposes the Vikings for what they are: A bad team. Re: Buccaneers @ Vikings Gameday Discussion Thread -- Week 8
Before the season, I decided that I would be happy if the Vikes finished 8-8 this season... I think that's a realistic final record for this team. They are better than last year, but they are still not a playoff team.VikingLord wrote: I will be very surprised if that happens.
