People do go overboard, but football is emotional. The refs make it easy to hate on them. :)
I didn't say I didn't like whining in general - I understand the complaining about the coaches and players, I just don't like the whining about the refs all the time. Yeah, they make some bad calls sometimes but to claim that the Vikings never get a call or that the refs give certain teams preferential treatment is pretty silly. There is also a person (won't mention a name) who will more likely than not, point out a non call on almost every big play by the opposition (holding, illegal formation, false start, illegal lineman down field, hit to the head, etc. etc.). If you are going to complain about the refs, then you should complain about all the bad calls for/against both teams but of course you only hear them complain when the call or non call goes against us. Just gets annoying after a while IMO. There - I'm done complaining. :D

Evidently people are not aware is that it really should have been a penalty for aiding the runner. If that wasn't aiding the runner, then I don't know what would be and they should throw the rule out because they obviously don't ever call it. If it would have been called (like it should have) then I'm sure everyone here would have been cursing Ford instead of praising him.

The other thing I find annoying is all the whining about the officiating. Seems like every game a lot of people here are complaining that the refs are out to get us and the other team gets all the calls. I think we got more than our share of calls (and non calls) go our way today. I guess some people just need to complain about something, but complaining about the refs all the time to me is annoying.
I thought that also when I saw it. I think the rule is in there for helping a player vault over a pile but in this case wouldn't the ball just come back to the point where ADs forward progress was stopped.

No, it is a 10 yard penalty from the spot of the foul. Here is more info I found:

It is illegal for an offensive player to aid a runner in advancing the ball forward. An offensive player may block for the runner, but may not push them forward. If an offensive player is deemed to have helped a runner advance the ball, a 10-yard penalty will be assessed.

This rule was implemented to prevent teams from lining up their biggest players behind their running back or tail back, and helping them move the pack. No offensive player may lift a runner to his feet or pull him in any direction at any time, nor push or throw his body against a teammate to aid him in an attempt to obstruct an opponent or to recover a loose ball. The foul for assisting the runner is a ten-yard penalty. Prior to the rule being implemented, a running back stopped by the opposing team would sometimes get an assist from behind.

I rewatched much of this game tonight.

I can't believe how badly Charlie Johnson played. You watch it, and you think he must have been hurt, but then you wonder why they didn't pull him.

Apart from the play where Ponder was stripped and Dallas scored the TD, J'Marcus Webb had a remarkably good game.

Looks like maybe he was hurt as he might not play tonight because of a bad elbow.

It is interesting though to see their new 4-3 cover 2 getting torched just like ours!
