Depth of his kickoffs? He belted most out of the end zone today! What game were you watching?Eli wrote:Walsh is still hurt. You can tell just by the depth of his kickoffs, and it was also likely a reason for the missed PAT. He wouldn't have stood a chance on a 54 yarder.

When you said that in the game thread I really wasn't sure. I took a quick nap at half-time and woke up with about 2 mins left in the third, so I didn't know.PurpleKoolaid wrote:Hmm I think ive gone insane. I thought Walsh missed a gimmie FG, but stats say he was 1/1.

I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!

Into the end zone. I think he had five kickoffs and only one was out of the end zone. That's not a healthy Walsh.Texas Vike wrote: Depth of his kickoffs? He belted most out of the end zone today! What game were you watching?

That's a bit much. Patterson messed up, but he wasn't the one to stand in the end zone with the ball as defenders closed in on him. Ponder needed to get the ball out of his hands faster and the OL needed to block better. Those facts are not on CP84.tmscr wrote:aside from the head scratching missed XP, the biggest blunder was patterson fumbling the kickoff which led to the strip fumble for a TD. the guy has been great all year, but that allowed dallas to score 14 points in the span of about 4 minutes. even though we recovered, we essentially gifted them 7 points right there.

I taped the game, so I'll watch and confirm it later. By my count he had 2 go through the back of the end zone.Eli wrote: Into the end zone. I think he had five kickoffs and only one was out of the end zone. That's not a healthy Walsh.

i agree, i'm not absolving what happened on the turnover, but he took his eyes off the ball and fumbled at the 5. just because it was lucky enough to roll out of bounds didn't change that it was a big unforced mistakeTexas Vike wrote: That's a bit much. It's too bad the Seahawks Packers game already had the "fail mary" because Ponders final duck today should be called the "fail mary". The ball literally only traveled 50 yards in the air, from his own 45 the ball hit the turf at the 5, a full 10 yards short of the nearest receiver. Pathetic.
It was brutal. I thought Ponder looked decent today for the most part. He made some solid throws and runs. But that last drive was more of the same. I'd love to have a QB who can run the 2 minute drill and make you feel confident that he has a shot.

And I just read that in his post-game presser Frazier cited Walsh's injury as the reason for not attempting that FG.Texas Vike wrote: I taped the game, so I'll watch and confirm it later. By my count he had 2 go through the back of the end zone.

We'll have that QB sooner or later. Worry not, my friend. SKOLTexas Vike wrote:

I'm done supporting this season with this coaching staff and certain personnel. But I am and will always support the franchise and the best thing moving forward is to finally get that top qb.

Because Leslie Frazier has been a reliable source of info regarding injuries this season, right? (READ: Ponder's ribs, Freeman's concussion) Even if it's true, Walsh's KOs were better than normal today.Eli wrote: And I just read that in his post-game presser Frazier cited Walsh's injury as the reason for not attempting that FG.

Can the NFL please start fining announcers who say "gaping hole"?
