Josh Robinson was a GEM! Great draft class by vikes this year. Kalil, Smith, Robinson and Walsh all have been exceptional!

With that loss coming against the Colts instead of the 49ers? I doubt anyone.

If the Packers lose, both the Lions and Pack would be 1-3. As improbable as a 3-1 start is for the Vikes, a 1-3 start for the two teams that were supposed to be duking it out for the right to represent the NFC in the Superbowl would be an even bigger shock.

They got the win and that is what matters, but the passing game stunk today.
I thought the original poster said "defense", not "Offense".

Yes our offense was pretty shady.

Really, we won and people still find something to complain about. Offense played conservatively and it worked! C'mon enough please.

I was impressed that the Vikings didn't shift coverage to Johnson. They played their positions and let the guy at that position cover him. Shows a lot of confidence in their defensive secondary personnel if you ask me. Lions moved Johnson all around and really couldn't get him untracked.

They needed to get Adrian going and he got 102 yards. That didn't necessarily translate to dominating the time of possession though. Stafford had 319 yards, but on 51 attempts, a 6.3 YPA isn't great and the Vikings played the zone to perfection.

It generated 6 points... That wasn't a problem today thanks to the two special teams scores. It would be a problem on most Sundays.

No, I definitely was talking about the offense. Our D did a pretty good job overall. The lions did drop the ball a few times to bail them out. I've been much happier with the D the last two games. They've seemed to step up after the first couple weeks.

The D looked like it played well, because the Lions couldnt hold onto the ball. How many big Lions dropped passes that game?
Luckily our ST came to play or this would have been a loss.

He did. There were sooooo many times Stafford was about to throw down the field, but pulled it back because of Robinson's coverage.

The box score doesn't tell the whole story. Those two PI calls on downfield throws to Simpson don't show up in the passing yardage totals but they were big plays that came out of the passing game. The pass to Simpson to pick up a first down with just a few minutes left in the game was pretty big two and Ponder Vikes took care of the ball, making a number of good decisions in situations where, last season, he might have forced the ball and had it picked off. The Vikes have definitely had (and will have) much better days passing the ball but as you said, they got the win and that's what matters.
