1. Trade back in 1st to 25 and select Simmons (get an extra 4th)
2. Select Hakeem Butler in the 2nd at 18
3. Trade up to end of 2nd to select Eric Mcoy (3rd and extra 4th)
4. Draft Jace (TE) in 4th or Darrell Henderson or Hill (RBs)
5. No picks
6th. Select Powers or Chuma Edoga. Edoga is my sleeper of the draft. Great pass blocker but an average run blocker.
6th. Select an Edge guy they like
7th. Rangy LB
7th. QB Easton Stick or Trace McSorley. I like Trace intangibles. Reminds me of Keenum.
Great pass blocker/average run blocker is way better than anything we had last season.
True. I take a better pass blocking OL over a better run blocking OL any day of the week. Cook will make enough plays now that he's actually going to be handed the ball. We need to protect our QB

That would be a great move. The 5th year is key. 24 and 30 would work great. Could knock off OL and WR or TE ect.. Needs to be O for sure. With that watch it be a LB at 18. Isn't that how it usually gos.
I mean LB is shallow on this roster outside of starters. And both starters just landed big contracts so I dont think we would go there. DT is a big need for defense IMO. I would say the only true needs on defense are 3 tech DT and possibly another good pass rushing DE because Griffens time is wearing thin here. Outside of that, there isnt much.

But yeah, Spielman landed multiple 5th year options in 2012 (Kalil and Harry), 2013 (Floyd, Rhodes and Patterson) and 2014 (Barr and Teddy). He hasnt done it since. Granted we didnt have a first round pick in 2017. I could see him pulling that off again this year.
I was joking about the LBer. I don't know the numbers but I wonder how much time we spend in the 4-3 setup. Let's face it the NFL is basically becoming a passing league. Your 3rd CB is almost more important. It would be nice to get an OL and WR that could start. The WR mainly will be the 3rd guy. It could happen. I'm just hoping we get some help for this O. Maybe some are right in that we invested too much in our D. But playing some decent D is also nice and needed. Should be interesting and the draft day trading is starting to heat up more now than years ago.

Oh your 3rd CB is much more important than someone like a 3rd LB. Gedeon is considered our "starting" WLB but he plays like 20 snaps a game. That's why I'm glad we loaded up on CB's when we did. I would even say your 4th possibly 5th best CB is more important or at worst equally as important as a 3rd LB. As for WR, we can definitely land a solid number 3 in the 3-5 rounds. I dont think we need to go after one in the first or even the 2nd unless someone talented has fallen a ways. And by the looks of it, we havent really met with many so I doubt they go there. And yeah Spielman is definitely going to move around. When? Who knows but he either does it in the early rounds or late rounds every year. He's not one to usually trade up. He's one to trade down and collect more picks which I like. The only time he tends to trade up more is in the first round because of that 5th year option

Great stuff guys. Hey how about a running back like a Chuck Foreman! He was on KFAN this evening with Barerio and man did that bring back some good old memories. As much as I want another solid running back, wide receiver, or Corner back I'm sticking with what we really need and that is a couple of offensive lineman. Center, guard or tackle just find a couple guys who can start and play at a high level. We can find a running back later in the draft or free agency. I'd like to see BB get a chance to win that 3rd receiver job. Can't wait for the draft. Skol Vikes!!!

I truly think cook is going to be a great RB. He just needs to stay healthy. I always said, you never know with injuries. Rudy was labeled injury prone for a long time and couldn’t ever stay healthy. Now he never misses a game. He hasn’t missed a single game in 4 years. Missed 16 in his first 4 years. Pretty crazy for a guy that missed so many games. I feel like this is the year cook really explodes

I like Cook too, but we need a solid #2 and probably a #3. I would go with a UDFA to compete with Boone and Abdullah, but look for the Vikings to draft a RB as high as the 3rd round if the right one drops.

Yeah this RB class is deeper than some may think. And there arent many standouts so there will be a ton floating in rounds 3 all the way to probably about round 6. I'm completely fine with Boone as a #3.

I think both Henderson and Hill will be stars. Both I have going in the 3-5. Hill is Kamara. Not like, is. Hope he goes to a terrible situation like behind Kamara.

Henderson plays just like Cook. I fear the Bears select him with their 3rd rounder.

Cook is a very good back no doubt. Would be nice if he could stay healthy.

Jeff Legwold has his top 100 players list out. He does this every year. Not a mock draft, just his ranking of all players available. QB's go early, so some of these players will slip below his ranking. (he has Kyler Murray as 20, he wont last that long of course)

Oh yeah the QBs are usually down on these lists. We should get some good value at 18

To me this draft seems to be a little weak. Of course there will be some monsters but I keep reading that teams in the early spots are looking to trade down. Last year teams were begging to move up. It's a strange deal.

You’re right in a way. It’s more so the value at #6 isn’t a huge difference compared to the value at #18. Which is actually a good thing for us. Where in past drafts, if you’re picking top 5, there are no-brainer picks. This year there isn’t because those top players like Josh Allen, Quinnen Williams and Montez Sweat all of the sudden have red flags flying everywhere. And it seems like teams are having a tough time figuring out the value of these QBs outside of Murray. I think we’re in a great spot

Great pass blocker/average run blocker is way better than anything we had last season.
True. I take a better pass blocking OL over a better run blocking OL any day of the week. Cook will make enough plays now that he's actually going to be handed the ball. We need to protect our QB
I want good run blocking. Cousins should only have to throw 20-25 times on average, and half of those should be on play action/misdirection plays which help provide the protection. All that said, the interior of our OL last year was unable to pass protect sufficiently and that is an urgent need. Reiff and O'Neill are sufficient pass protectors, but we need an interior that can mirror and anchor.
"You like that!"
