Ok, this is what's going to happen. Someone will sign Walsh, and in the next 2 years he will be on the winning team of the Super Bowl. You heard it here first. :wallbang:

And that's why you are a Lions fan.

For anyone saying Forbath is "gross". This just shows you how gross Walsh was. Forbath has been a pretty solid kicker

Maybe he's gross because he eats his boogers....jk

But seriously I hope this moves helps out both sides. Maybe another team is better for Walsh mindset and Forbath gives us those points that we've been missing.

Question. How is he 0-19 range 100% when hr misses in 2012 and 2014?

Forbaths 0-19 % should be 97.8%.

It looks like he is an awesome kicker out to 50 yards, beyond that he drops way off and that really pulls down his average. Made me wonder about if he could consistently kick touchbacks, and it doesn't look like it, he has a career average of 30.6%(walsh is 56.3%).

I liked Walsh's huge leg, but for his career (based on the numbers on this chart) Forbath is 93.6% inside 50 yards, i say that is pretty good.

Who here hasn't done that at some time in their life?

Souhan has a piece on how the Vikings messed up with Walsh.

NFL teams should almost never invest heavily in a kicker. Kickers can go south at any time and for any reason, and few of them are markedly better than those you would sign off the street to replace them.

If the Vikings weren’t going to release Walsh after his missed kick against Seattle, they should have when he demonstrated, after an offseason of fine-tuning and mood-enhancing, that he was unreliable in the 2016 season opener.

If he wasn’t fixed after eight months of preparation, he was bound to cost this team this season.

The most damaging part of the Blair Walsh Project was the contract extension, which cost the Vikings actual money and cap space that could have been used on an actual football player, the kind that needs to be replaced because he has sacrificed a knee, synapse or spleen for the franchise.

Was he saying this when they extended him though? Sounds like a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking to me.

I would have been more impressed if he had written this just after his contract was signed. It's easy to be critical after the fact. If Walsh was 100% this year his contract wouldn't even be and issue.
