Am I the only person who read the widely published article about how Mike Zimmer had ZERO interest in Johnny Manziel after his pro-day behavior? and I have yet to read any report to confirm that the Vikings were going to get Manziel at #22. It makes no sense, and since when do teams tell the trade partner who they're going to draft with that pick. Sort of eliminate all leverage doesn't it?
Yah I've been kinda rantin on that for about 48 hours straight but people's gonna believe what they want to believe.

Seriously? That's actually pretty funny! What was Patterson's reaction to the pick?
I wonder what Cassel thinks
One of these years I have to make it up to Minny for the draft party!!!!!!!

Well like I said earlier today, I don't think we were actually trading up for Manziel at all. I honestly think we were trying to leap frog either Cleveland or another team for Bridgewater.
Does not really matter, because in the end, we traded up and still got the best quarterback in the draft.
A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.
I'm mostly 'meh' on Bridgewater, but I'm certainly glad the Vikings didn't draft Manziel. I do find it humorous, though, how many fans can't stomach the idea that the Vikings didn't get their first (or second) choice at QB.

Its all just sales, and we're supposed to believe it. Well I don't believe half of what they say.
Believe what you want, apparently the thought that the Vikings wanted Manziel and made a play for him is not a reality you're willing to accept. It seems pretty clear to me. Especially if you take into account Spielman's answer when asked point blank.
And, no, it doesn't diminish Teddy's value. We simply coveted someone else more.
Glad to see he and Patterson aren't hung up on it either! Nice pic.
Didn't Spielman have misinformation leaked to drop back one to get more picks? Why wouldn't he do the same thing with this, hiding his true intentions and leaking misinformation.

I don't accept it because there is zero evidence for it except "sources tell us..." and putting words in Spielman's mouth that never came out of it. Meanwhile there IS evidence they didn't care for Manziel.

NOBODY. NOBODY WANTED HIM, AND WE HAD ANOTHER PICK AT 40. NOBODY WANTED BRIDGEWATER FOR A REASON.
I was standing 10 feet from Munnerlyn and Patterson before they went to the stage and Patterson got on the microphone. I was ready to film Patterson but he must have gone to the autograph area right as we were about to pick. Melanie was there & she could maybe describe it better than my NyQuil ridden ####. It certain felt like 80% of the room wanted Manziel
as noted above, maybe bridgewater will be the best qb but only time will tell. i can see how you predicted 80 percent wanted manziel because i was on board for that all the way. the real mystery is where the vikings had bortles ranked.
