This is why we have Ponder...

As crazy as it sounds... we got 3/4ths of a season to find out... of course they'll probably still start Ponder.

 How bout that jump ball up for grabs again to you know who ... EVANS, for the TD on Saturday. The guy has luck on his side. And look how he carries the ball when he runs, yikes! Yeah I don't want this guy anywhere near my team. That playground stuff isn't going to work in this league. Just ask Chip Kelly xD. And I don't see anyone coaching that carelessness outa him. I would draft Evans though, dude always comes down with the ball.

I like Mariota alot and think him along with Peterson, Jennings, Patterson, Simpson, Wright, and Rudolph would make a very hard offense for opposing defenses to scheme against. I also like Johnny Manziel and call me crazy but looks to me like he has alot of Fran Tarkenton in him and that would be ok with me. On a side note, if there would be any way to bring Eric Decker back here in the offseason to Minnesota and have him take the Simpson role in the offense I would be ecstatic. Patterson and Decker working the outside and down the field and Jennings and Rudolph working the middle along with a dual threat QB like Mariota or Manziel running some read option with Adrian and we could be downright scary offensively.

True. The defense has cost us two games. Nearly three, and heck they didn't help much in the Detroit game either.

BUT! The most important piece to the puzzle of any serious, Super Bowl contending team is the guy taking the snaps. Period! End of story.

Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers. ALL have won with less than stellar defenses. Under no circumstances do they pass on a potential franchise QB if they're convinced there is one there when they pick. I don't care if the next Lawrence Taylor is on the board.

Of course there is always the possibility that they swing and miss - AGAIN! - on a QB and are still in the same position they're in now. But they have to take that swing or they're going nowhere anytime soon.

Once you have that QB in place, THEN you can draft and sign players to build around him. That's when you can put together a team that can be good for years. It's why the teams with the elite QBs are usually contenders for several seasons. Or as long as the QB remains elite.

Except Favre has arguably the best arm in the history of the game. No one could throw the ball with velocity like Favre lol...there's a difference between gunslinger mentality and gunslinger ability. I'm not saying Manziel's arm is weak, but the Favre comparison wasn't good lol
In the grand scheme of things...it's pretty weak...
