I think the fact he's still on the team indicates the Vikings think he has a chance. If they didn't think that I would hope they'd cut him and give another guy a shot. So I'm not convinced he's done, but the odds are really stacked against him.

A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Ha! Thanks. I'll try to keep up with camp notes as I see them. Meanwhile...

Ponder throws an INT to Robert Blanton, who told me a month ago he's "not far off at all" from starting safety
Then CP84 nabs a one-hander that wakes the crowd up. A dull roar, but as audible as the crowd has been today.

Ponder will start unless he completely falls on his face, but it will be interesting if Cassel plays really well early in camp and Ponder struggles.

Im pulling for Robert Blanton to win that starting safety spot. Put the two Notre Dame players together.

Ponder throwing a pick has to mean he is probably taking more chances downfield, especially if a safety caught it. Im not surprised he threw an INT, it all comes with timing and trusting the WR core. He should be better by the end of camp

Seems like an up and down day (to be expected) to start camp. Defense started strong, offense came on later. Windy conditions, Patterson dropped a few but sounds like he made some nice catches too. Who's covering camp now with Pelissero gone? Only person I could find was Wobby.

Try @Andrew_Krammer
@Andrew_Krammer: Ponder 3-6 in team so far, one near INT to Sanford after misfiring to Jennings. To note, It's very windy

I'm glad the Vikings discovered that Wright could be a deep threat. He sure was for the Razorbacks.

Personally, I'm looking forward to watching this group of WRs play ball. They can do more than last year's group.

This was a downer; hope it's nothing serious: "Rhodes left the field briefly during coverage drills with what appeared to be a lower leg injury."

That caught my eye as well. But then I reread the "briefly" part and I'm fairly certain it was something minor.

man, I love big tough corners. But can they (or even wrs) hold up when you're that size and that speed? Doesn't really seem like it. Cook+Rhodes could really be a beastly duo. But both just seem too big to hold up and still retain the athleticism.
