#Vikings working a lot of nickel defense today. No surprises. Henderson and Greenway are the LBs, Robinson in slot, Cook/Rhodes outside.
I have a feeling that's the defense we're going to see about 70% of the time this year, no matter who the other starting linebacker may be. They ran a lot of nickel and dime defensive formations last year, could run even more this year.

They're running two sets of team simultaneously. That's new.
Wasn't that what Joe Philbin did last year in Miami? I think I remember that from Hard Knocks.

Don't freak out. Defense always has the advantage at the beginning of the year/camp.
Matt Cassel threw consecutive interceptions on pretty bad throws.
Ponder has thrown two interceptions too. Ugly miss on touch pass over Rudolph to corner. Lot of heat on QB in blitz drill. #Vikings

Cordarrelle Patterson just made a finger tip catch on a go ball behind Xavier Rhodes in 7 on 7. Great pitch and catch with Ponder.
Greg Jennings was right. He looks perfectly fine.

Effective move the ball drill run by Christian Ponder. Often seems most at ease in those hurry up, don't think situations.

Brian Robison with his second INT of the day, leaping to pick off Ponder in the end zone during backed up drill. Defense roars. #Vikings

Good to see the Defense show up today and make plays. Most people like to see the offense dominate in practice but im a fan of a good defense.

Is there a specific reason why the Vikings just won't start both Shariff and Kevin at the defensive tackle spots? Honestly, you don't even need a true nose tackle in our defense. You need players like Kevin and Shariff.

Maybe they will. They sub so much at DT that I'm sure they'll both be on the field at the same time, and could maybe start together. If you look at the nose tackles that the Vikings have right now, none of them are over 310 lbs, so it would make little difference in terms of physical size.

Frazier said he's been thinking about the dueling team drills for a while. Decided over weekend he needed to find way to get more reps.
Frazier said #Vikings aren't currently thinking of Joe Webb as a punt returner. More kickoffs, receiver. But getting him reps anyway.
Frazier says Kyle Rudolph is "night and day" more confident and sure of himself than a year ago. Pro Bowl performance "flipped a switch."

Frazier on OTA #5: http://www.vikings.com/media-vault/vide ... 9b5045711e

Edit: I like what Frazier has to say about Rhodes and the hint that there's going to be more press coverage going forward. Smart.

It's still early. The Linemen arent as big of a concern right now because without pads evaluating them now would be unfair. Maybe during full pads in training camp, they will tried Floyd at the Nose. But I think what they're trying to do is prepare Floyd at K-Will's spot for next year. I dont think they drafted Floyd to start him at Nose. I hope they change their minds and let him and Williams start side by side.

But then again their letting Fred Evans and Letroy Guion take a shot at the nose right now.

Thanks again for all of the updates DP, I really enjoy them :)

What do you mean, "take a shot"? They were the nose tackles last year.
