Some thought Alexander was a late first-rounder.

PFF had Alexander as their #21-ranked player.

Is there an "official" source of news we should all wait for?

I am slightly upset. Alexander over Billings and Vonn Bell? Not sure about that one.

Captains replacement maybe.

Surprised Billings is still around.

I'm good with that. Wouldn't liked to trade back cause there were still a number of strong players on the board, but you can never have too many DBs. I wonder about his potential as a S or if they drafting him strictly as a CB.

Makes some sense.....Newman is 38 and is on a 1 year deal, Captain is on the last year of his contract.

I'm honestly not a big fan of this pick. Walter Football had this to say about him:
Alexander was an excellent cover corner for Clemson the past two seasons. The redshirt sophomore recorded 23 tackles with five passes broken up and zero interceptions 2015. In 2014, he had 21 tackles with six breakups and zero interceptions. Alexander is very adept at running the route and preventing separation.

So he's an excellent cover corner, but he has zero INTs over 2 years?

Maybe they just don't throw at him?

So they got rid of Josh Robinson and drafted... Josh Robinson?

I don't like it. No sir.

Allowed just 29.6 percent completions and no touchdowns. Got the best of OU wide receiver Sterling Shepard in back-to-back seasons.

That was one of the most anti climatic 2nd round picks I can remember. There were a lot of better players out there.

we have two excellent corners and resigned newman. we also have captain in the slot. why in the world wouldn't you draft ohio state's safety or the pitt receiver there? this makes no sense this to me whatsoever.

Okay Alexander.
I just thought that Billings would have been an awesome pick.

Scouting report: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2 ... b-clemson/
Allowed just 33 percent of passes into his coverage to be caught in 2015, best in the draft class.
Didn’t allow more than four catches in a single game all season

I guess we just have to trust Zimmer on this one. He's the DB expert. This looks like a pick he probably pushed for...

It was nice to see Daunte.
