Well, if the best QB´s in the league (Luck, Wilson) have accuracy issues, isn´t it more of a statement about how difficult the position is, rather than a reason to criticize a QB for not being perfect. Does every FG kicker have accuracy issues, because no kicker has ever gone through a full year (playoffs included) without missing a kick?Mothman wrote: Never? That's simply not true. I've heard Stafford's accuracy, in particular, criticized many, many times over the years. I rarely watch the Seahawks so I can't comment on that but just within the past two weeks, I heard a broadcaster criticizing Luck for making inaccurate throws.
I don't understand why you seem so bothered by people commenting on Teddy's accuracy issues when he's obviously had some accuracy issues.

Interesting thought I just had... Have we ever seen Teddy make a throw as bad as a certain future HOF QB made in his last playoff game in New Orleans? If so, I think it had to come in the first Detroit game.
I agree DK and John. This is exactly what my point is. Maybe you guys said it better than I didDKSweets wrote:+1
It's ironic that so many of us defended trash QBs for years, and now Teddy is playing better than any of them and we have tempered optimism.
No, they may have missed because a few attempts were too long. That would be a strength issue, not an accuracy issue.John_Viveiros wrote:Well, if the best QB´s in the league (Luck, Wilson) have accuracy issues, isn´t it more of a statement about how difficult the position is, rather than a reason to criticize a QB for not being perfect. I can't believe you guys are enthusiastically supporting this nonsense.Pondering Her Percy wrote: I agree DK and John. This is exactly what my point is. Maybe you guys said it better than I did
But did you see that his average 'air yards' (yards from LOS to where pass is caught) was only 3.88 yards per attempt? I would hope most QBs could get close to that percentage when throwing less than 4 yards on average.mosscarter wrote:75% completion rate against the second ranked defense in the league last week, with basically no weapons whatsoever. jennings is old, rudolph was banged up as always, and patterson could be one of the biggest disappointments in the whole league.
Turner said he’s seen many quarterbacks struggle when faced with a shifting supporting cast — eight offensive linemen, three different running backs, three different tight ends and a wide receiver who was signed off the Browns practice squad, for example — and that he hasn’t seen those struggles from Bridgewater, who Turner says has been asked to handle more than any other young quarterback he’s worked with.
“It’s pretty incredible to me what he’s done, how he’s handled it, the things he’s gotten done and what he’s really done is made everyone around him better and that’s a quality that you’re looking for … the thing that excites me is he can make any throw you need to make — he does it with people around him, he does it with people hitting him, he does it when he has to slide in the pocket. He knows how to play football and that’s the starting point of the quarterback position. He’s got the intangibles you need and he’s going to continue to get better and better,” Turner said, via Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Nonsense? There is a difference. Cam Newton is at the bottom of the league when it comes to completion percentage. And when I say bottom I mean the only other starting QBs with a worse completion percentage are Geno Smith and Josh McCown. So yes, that is very bad. Those are very noticeable accuracy issues. As I have said before, he has terrible pocket presence and throws off of his back foot more than any other QB I have seen. Hence why he has accuracy issues. It's not like he's even near Luck, Wilson or any of those guys. He's literally 30th out of 32 starting QBs. Isn't that a display of accuracy issues? Teddy is 14th and his accuracy is criticized. Teddy doesn't have the bad habits that Newton has.Mothman wrote: I can't believe you guys are enthusiastically supporting this nonsense.
Pondering, I've seen you repeatedly rip Jay Cutler. Earlier today, in this thread, you criticized Cam Newton's accuracy and mechanics and yet now you purport to agree "exactly" with a philosophy that states, "if the best QB´s in the league (Luck, Wilson) have accuracy issues, isn't it more of a statement about how difficult the position is, rather than a reason to criticize a QB for not being perfect"?
Is it a selective philosophy that doesn't apply to Cam Newton, Jay Cutler or even (gasp!) Christian Ponder? They play the same difficult position Teddy, Luck and Wilson play. If even the best QBs in the league have accuracy issues, isn't that a reason not to criticize Cutler, Newton and Ponder for being imperfect?
