We certainly have some glaring weaknesses. This was a tough game to lose but we've got a little time to see how much we can correct things before its time to hit the panic button.mosscarter wrote:i'll sum this up for all of you. WE AREN"T THAT GOOD. PERIOD. we have a long way to go and we only have one hope at this point--teddy. our defense has played 3 really good qb's the last 3 weeks, but look at how many points we have allowed? the chief's shut down brady and yet look at what he did to us. our defense isn't really good at all, and our run game???? this is my favorite part. the only reason we ran like we did last week was because bridgewater was throwing all over the field and it opened up the run. wake up people.

It's interesting to see how people react to Demi. Demi may "overreact", but I never see him calling out specific people. I do see plenty of examples of people going after him personally, though.Pondering Her Percy wrote: Your overreactions are what's wrong. fiesta vike "glaring," is a great term, but lets be honest we are 1-4 if we didn't play the rams week 1. that is NOT A GOOD TEAM. with bridgewater healthy, we could win a lot of games just because of his presence (and i really believe that). i might be wrong, but i think he is that good. he hasn't missed a step, not only in the preseason, but into the regular season as well. this kid didn't turn the ball over in college and he has YET to throw an interception. he is that good, he just needs a bit better of a team around him. he will take us where we need to be.

Re: Vikings @ Packers Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 5
It amuses me watching so many point the finger at Spielman after this. Yet last week, everyone is praising him for trading up for Teddy and selecting Barr.
Someone tell me one team that ever went INTO LAMBEAU, missing their franchise RB, their best overall offensive lineman, their pro-bowl caliber TE, and their 1st and 2nd string QB and was competitive or pulled out a victory???
I mean I feel like some expect Spielman to have Peyton Manning for a 3rd string QB, Lesean McCoy for a backup RB, etc. Did anyone honestly think we were going to go INTO LAMBEAU and make a run at these guys no matter who our 3RD STRING quarterback was??? Do you really think MBT or Harnish would have made any kind of a difference??? What about Curtis Painter, Joe Webb, Jimmy Clausen, Stephen McGee, Mike Kafka, Scott Tolzien or Thad Lewis?? Yeah those guys would have really led us to victory
Everyone knew this loss was coming when Teddy was declared inactive. Get over it and move on. The overreactions are just getting blown out of proportion at this point

I think its just the fact that he doesn't engage in discussions and lobs out lots of incendiary comments. Its the sort of message board behavior that is prone to drawing out strong reactions because that is what it is designed to do. It can be amusing at times if you don't expect it to be anything more than what it is.VikingLord wrote: It's interesting to see how people react to Demi. At the end of the day, Ponder is a Viking so I support him. I don't like when he plays, but he's still apart of the team. I feel for the guy, it's not easy. Keep your head up dog. Skol Vikes

It's a great day to be great

So since its happened once in how many years of the NFL, that's negating my statement?? The percentage of a 3rd string QB actually developing into an NFL caliber starter is literally less than 5% so where are you going with this???VikingLord wrote:

Not defending Demi at all, but you do know that you don't have to participate on this board if you don't want to - right? No need to shut down the board for the rest of us.Pondering Her Percy wrote: Your overreactions are what's wrong. Re: Vikings @ Packers Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 5
Yes, I am interested to see what kind of/if any improvement we can manage as a team during the season. Look at GB for example. They have a terrible and banged up O Line, but they showed some improvement this week. I'd love to see our lines, offense and defense, show that kind of improvement and I won't rule it out as a possibility. With a little improvement and a healthy Teddy we could still manage a good season. I think we'll know soon whether that's going to be a possibility at all.mosscarter wrote:fiesta vike "glaring," is a great term, but lets be honest we are 1-4 if we didn't play the rams week 1. that is NOT A GOOD TEAM. with bridgewater healthy, we could win a lot of games just because of his presence (and i really believe that). i might be wrong, but i think he is that good. he hasn't missed a step, not only in the preseason, but into the regular season as well. this kid didn't turn the ball over in college and he has YET to throw an interception. he is that good, he just needs a bit better of a team around him. he will take us where we need to be.

Exactly. There is no discussion with him.fiestavike wrote:

His discussion = "The vikings suck, Spielman sucks, the coaches suck, we have no talent".....and there is literally no backing behind it. Its just negative statement, after negative statement with no defense behind it other than "we suck". Sweet discussion

But as far as I can tell, Demi doesn't lob anything at individuals. I'm sure some don't like the style, but in my view the one making it personal is the one trolling, which is quite honestly what I thought you did in the other thread.fiestavike wrote: I think its just the fact that he doesn't engage in discussions and lobs out lots of incendiary comments. This is a moderated board. Let the mods do their job. If they find Demi's comments to be against the board rules, they will take action.

I was pulling for you guys, would of been nice to see GB fall below .500. You guys really need Bridgewater back, see you in 10 days.
