@StribDW: Vikings in a bind at safety going into preseason finale. Hope is to hold Sanford, Smith, Raymond out. But Frampton, Sendejo hurt as well.

@TomPelissero: Rhett Ellison (knee tendinitis) might play. Good news on him that it wasn't something worse. #Vikings

I hope Blanton can play. Haven't seen much of anything from him due to injured hammy. Would be a nice opportunity but it'd be a challenge to produce given so much missed time.

Blanton may have to play by himself. :(

Any of the three potential starters at safety could use the extra reps. Raymond, because he missed game three, Smith because he's a rookie, and Sanford, well, because he's Sanford.

John Carlson - TE - Vikings

Vikings TE John Carlson (knee) has resumed practicing and remains on track for Week 1.

Carson needed all four weeks to recover from his 2-4 week MCL sprain, but he'll be good to go against the Jaguars.

Cool.
@TomPelissero: Robert Blanton likely will start and play the whole game. #Vikings fifth round pick has yet to play in preseason because of hamstring.

@TomPelissero: Leslie Frazier said none of the No. 3 RB candidates distinguished themselves in Friday's game. "It’s still open. It’s open competition."
@TomPelissero: Plan is to give Jordan Todman a long look Thursday, Frazier said. "He’s as close to 100 percent as he’s been in quite awhile."

That's very good news. I'd love to see Schwartz compete for a starting spot.

@TomPelissero: Christian Ponder said coaches drilled him Sunday on hitting last step in drop, then moving up in pocket. Was an issue on Friday. #Vikings
