Given that Smith, Griffin, Newman and Loadholt signed short 1 yeat deals. Kalil is up after this year as is Robison, and the deal Sandejo got is easy to get out of too. I wouldn't count out too many positions in round 1, because it seems like there will be some openings next year if not sooner.

I wouldnt necessarily be mad if we went OT at 23 to replace Kalil I would just prefer WR for sure. To add on, there isn't a safety worthy of pick 23 in this draft. As for Robison, we already have his replacement in Hunter. So that doesnt worry me either.

There is a difference here. This is a deep offensive line draft. Its NOT a deep WR class

You're right it's not a deep WR group, I just wouldn't want them to use that as justification to reach outside of their rankings for a WR because they need one. That thinking lead to the Christian Ponder error.

Exactly, if it's a weak WR class then the last thing they should do is spend their best pick on a WR. Just like it was a weak QB class when they selected Ponder, wouldn't have mattered if we got Locker or Gabbert, the best move is to NOT PICK from that position in the first place. The last thing we need is a Troy Williamson with our first pick.

Close to the last thing we need is another BB, Mike Wallace, etc. No more spendy FA WR's Rick.

I sure hope they are working with CP this offseason.

CP is training himself. They can't work with him until the voluntary program begins.

See some of his training vids on his media portion of his Twitter page: @ceeflashpee84

My gut tells me that Slick/Zim is gunna go defense again (in the 1st round) this year.

Do you watch CFB?

I watch a fair bit. I personally don't think this is a weak WR class, perhaps it's not very deep, but I'd question that too. Doctson, Treadwell, Coleman... there are some seriously talented WRs that should go in the 2nd half of the first round. I think the "experts" have said it is a weaker group based on the combine numbers (read: 40 time), but there is a heck of a lot more to playing the position in a game than straight line speed without pads. If Doctson is there at 23, that would be a sweet pick for us. Watch some tape of how he pluck balls out of the air. His vertical at the combine showed one of his main strengths, but he also has impressive technique with body position, concentration, and hands. He comes down with balls that few guys could catch.

Via Ben Goessling;
According to a league source, the #Vikings signed former 49ers tight end Brian Leonhardt to 1-year, $600K contract. Spring Lake Pk. native

Only the Sooner games at the GF's moms house haha. Those are basically sacred down here. :P

I really don't have an opinion on the class, I still haven't even done most of my research yet for the draft. I was more just saying if those who have done a fair bit of research on the class say it's weak, I don't think the strategy behind that is to ATTACK the weak position with your first pick.

Personally from what I HAVE seen is I love Doctson, he's about the only guy I've taken a serious look at as well as sterling shepard just cause I've watched him play a few times.

Wasn't expecting them to sign a TE. He going to be a stop gap until Rhett Ellison is healthy?
Appears he is a good blocker.
Thanks for the updates DP

I figure anybody we pick up on the offensive line is somebody Sparano approves of or wants.

I was hoping they'd sign/draft a TE. Not sold on anyone. A few guys who seem pretty one dimensional, and Rudolph. Who seems to be pretty overrated considering his production (or lack thereof).

Some of the problem with Rudolph's production last year was he got kept in to help block more than he ran routes.
Leonhardt has followed Sparano from 3 teams. So Tony must like him.

I'm not sure how Pruitt seems one dimensional. I think he could be a solid TE for us down the road. As for Rudy, he proved he could finally stay healthy for a year and had a pretty decent season.

This TE class is pretty weak as well so I don't know what you're really expecting or have in mind but I wouldnt get your hopes up with the limited talent out there.
