Thielen injured his shoulder in the game, AP injured his back, Ellis ankle?
Joesph with his toe. He going to be able to play againest Seattle? and I'm sure many more.
I'm not sure we'll know much until we see injury and practice reports. Players have the day off today so the earliest we'll probably know on most of these guys is Tuesday afternoon. As always Wednesday and Thursday are key days. If players don't get in at least a limited practice by Friday they usually sit. AD should be OK.

These are the questions on everyone's minds. I wonder if we are going to have to wait until Sat. to find out. Id like to see Lacey or Starks trying running up the middle with Bigfoot in there. Plese Joseph fires up the team. Hes just one of those guys that has the personality. Gotta keep him and Smith (along with quite a few others) on this team. For a good long time.

Seems incredibly optimistic but maybe I'm thinking of another injury.
Zimmer said it's a 6-month recovery after surgery for Ellison.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Ellison will undergo surgery and it could be six months until he’s back on the field again.
Wide receiver Adam Thielen also left Sunday’s game after aggravating a left shoulder injury with 10:27 left in the third quarter.

However, Thielen said on Monday at Winter Park that he’s hopeful he’ll be back for Sunday’s home playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks.

“I’m good,” he said “I think [I'll be ready Sunday]. We’ll see.

“It’s tough not to be on the field, so any chance I get to be on the field I’m going to take advantage of it.”

Thielen said he wasn’t sure how he hurt his shoulder Sunday, “but “whatever it was, it wasn’t good.”
Defensive lineman Kenrick Ellison left the game with a leg injury and running back Adrian Peterson had back spasms in the second half and briefly left the game to undergo X-rays in the locker room.

Peterson returned and finished with 19 carries for 67 yards and one touchdown after securing his third NFL rushing title in nine seasons.

Starting nose tackle Linval Joseph missed his fourth game in the last five weeks with a lingering toe injury.

The Vikings won’t practice again until Wednesday when the first injury report of the postseason will be released.

So, Ellison to IR, who do they bring up or sign?

I would be shocked if it is a career ending injury.

Well, it depends on the degree of patellar tendon strain. Sounds like a grade III strain = a tendon rupture. (Just for everyone's information, you don't 'tear' a muscle - it is called either a strain or rupture (a 'tear' in layman's terms).

It is not necessarily career-ending, but it depends on the severity. It depends on genetics. It depends on the quality of rehabilitation. Every human body responds to injury differently. It is never the same for two different individuals.

I wish Ellison the best in his recovery. I trust Eric Sugarman and the rest of the sports medicine team to give Ellison every opportunity to heal.

Is this the same injury that befell Victor Cruz and Greg Childs? I'm curious because those (I thought) were supposedly very difficult to come back from. Surgery and six months makes it sound like something quite routine than the seriousness of Childs' and Cruz' injuries.

FWIW the beat guys aren't very optimistic of Joseph (saying toe injuries are tricky and prolonged injuries, especially for 330-pound men). They're not sure how effective he's going to be (60%?) IF he plays.

I don't think his replacement is bad enough to play him at 60%. I hope he gets better soon, him at 100% for this game would be a big boost.

Good to see Thielen back. Hopefully Ellis is okay, if he and Linval can't go that leaves the cupboard pretty bare.
