Did you read my whole post or just pick out a certain part of it and run with it? Next time take the whole post into account.mosscarter wrote:russel has same issues as teddy?? how about the fact that wilson fires the ball and teddy throws like a little girl? would you say those two are close comparisons? it was night and day out there today. a legit quarterback versus another ponder. weak arm and weak confidence.
Crappy game all aroundhalfgiz wrote:125 yards total offense...heads should roll.
Anytime I've seen rollouts in Minnesota a defender is in the face of Bridgewater. I'm not understanding that at all. Can this team block for anything besides a run for a legendary running back who gets major yards after contact? It's frustrating. I see guys get beat by speed rushes, bum rushes, spin moves and whatever else. The Breeze wrote:What I find glaring is that for two consecutive games an NFC opponent has come into Minny needing a win to stay relevant and blown the Vikes outta the water.
The Viking 'offense' scored 2tds total in those games.
The talking heads say that Seattle is a run first team like it's some kind of throwback offense, when in fact they run and pass extremely well together. It's a very potent and effective offense that uses rollouts and short passes to set up plays downfield. Their o-line is not that good either.

I had to laugh when the Vikes were down 30 points and they started rolling TB out.

The Vikes are a run first team by default and stubborn idiocy...not by choice.
I really hope Zimmer puts a stop to this nonsense.
Can they even block for Peterson? It seems that he gets hit in the backfield on EVERY play. I don't think they can do any kind of blocking.Gemfow wrote:Can this team block for anything besides a run for a legendary running back who gets major yards after contact? It's frustrating. I agree. And changes need to be made. The Breeze wrote:The Vikes are a run first team by default and stubborn idiocy...not by choice.

Oh, i think it's a choice... a choice made out of necessity. The Breeze wrote:The Vikes are a run first team by default and stubborn idiocy...not by choice.
I suspect he advocates the strategy.I really hope Zimmer puts a stop to this nonsense.
We're just too predictable at this point. Run, run, pass on almost every series. Look at our losses outside of Denver really. Every other team shut down AD and we have no answer. We have to stop throwing from under center too. This line isn't good enough to wait for teddy to get to a 7 step drop. Just put him in shotgun.losperros wrote: I agree. And changes need to be made.
I honestly haven't seen them roll out much at all this season until late today, but whenAD is in the game, and due to the fact that TB does nothing to establish himself downfield, opposing D's sell out to stop AD. When the ball doesn't go to him they just keep coming at TB.Gemfow wrote: Anytime I've seen rollouts in Minnesota a defender is in the face of Bridgewater. I'm not understanding that at all. Very true, and even more strange is they also had a guy they had to try and force feed into the offense (jimmy Graham) that wasn't working at all. He get's hurt, they change things up and now Wilson looks like a probowler. Lucky for them though Wilson is further along in his development and given his natural athleticism helps him deal with a poor O-line better.Gemfow wrote:If anyone has seen Seattle games prior to their bye week you'd realize that Russell had the same issues as Teddy. He's just more of an athlete than Teddy and could extend plays longer. Russell would drop back and have to run for his life. The coaches shortened up the passing routes and Russell Wilson has looked like a totally different QB since the bye week. Minnesota should follow the Seahawk's lead. Teddy has some things to work on but he's also a second year QB who is still prone to some bad habits. He has great poise and is pretty accurate but I fear he suffers the Alex Smith syndrome of playing it safe. It's time to start letting that ball fly.

Norv's gotta go, those long #### slow developing vertical routes won't work with Teddy or this o-line.The Breeze wrote: I honestly haven't seen them roll out much at all this season until late today, but whenAD is in the game, and due to the fact that TB does nothing to establish himself downfield, opposing D's sell out to stop AD. Today the rollout in the 4th resulted in a nice gain and first down...of course AD was done for the day by then. The shotgun draw plays to McKinnon also worked late because the D was not keying on AD.
Teddy and Norv have got to find a way to get the ball out quicker...period.
If they can't, Zimmer needs to put his foot down IMO.
Everybody was invisible, including Rudolph... 3 catches for 13 yards is not impressing anyone. McKinnon and Peterson combined caught 7 passes for a whopping total of 12 yds. Here's the full breakdown by position... all ugly:Pondering Her Percy wrote:Rudy was second on the team in catches behind AP this game. Our WRs are the ones that are invisible.
