This is what we expected this season. Inconsistency. This has definitely been a step back. It's the first time this season they have appeared overwhelmed.

At the beginning of the season, I said to myself that a .500 record would be a solid step forward... we're still ahead of that pace.

Unfortunately, the only way to know whether Ponder is the future at QB is for him to play in games like this one and watch him make mistakes like the one he just made. And there were go - another piece of the puzzle has been filled in.

The Niners are a crappy team? C'mon. This game sucks, but the Vikings have played well so far this season.

That's what happy feet does to a throw - Ponder's tendency to drift backwards under pressure affects his throws.
