Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
They keep talking about how the Lions are kicking themselves and playing poorly... I would say the Vikings are VERY fortunate to be up one at half time.
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
Seriously, can anyone remember Ponder ever looking at the D, and calling an audible at the line? Ever?
Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
First Half:
+ Offensive line. Nice blocking on the Peterson run and they've done very well in pass protection especially considering the talent on the D-Line.
+ Josh Robinson. Nice reads and tackles (including on special teams) plus a forced fumble.
+ Fred Evans. Far and away the most disruptive lineman (despite an offsides penalty) and a batted ball leading to an interception.
- Christian Ponder. Think the board has covered this one pretty well.
- LB's and S. Been very soft in the middle all day on both runs and passes.
I'll say Simpson was neutral. Had a bad drop to cause an INT but he also had a big catch and caused 30+ yards in penalties.

Favre was the last guy to audible and he had to contradict the coaches to do so.

It's only halftime of week 1 and I feel so disheartened that we just wasted the prime of the greatest RB of all-time.

Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
AD has been open TWICE now close to the line, with no Lion close to him, and The Mental Midget hasn't seen him (he wasn't the first read so how could he?). I am starting to wonder just how bad Cassel is...
Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
IF he didn't have the two ints... he WOULD BE! but it's always been about limiting the mistakes with Ponder. If he was 6/9 for 103 yards with no INT's we'd be winning by 11 or more. Regardless those mistakes will ruin any performance.soflavike wrote:Ponder: 6/9 for 103 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Some would say he's being "efficient".![]()

If I were the Vikings I would be very happy with the score. The bobbled hold on the FG, Johnson's TD juggle, Suh's bonehead penalty, and an easy pick six dropped. The scoreboard could be a lot worse than it is right now.

It's time to take the kid gloves off Ponder. Frazier and Musgrave have got to stop treating Ponder like he's a rookie and let him sink or swim. AD has nowhere to run and isn't going to have anywhere to run as long as the Vikings keep trying to protect Ponder. It's time to let the guy either be a starting pro or go.

Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
This game has been something else. The Lions are practically giving us the game and we're handing it right back to them.
Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
This game is weird because we could easily be losing by 20 or winning by 20.
Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
That would start with a benching to get his attention. If he can't take care of the ball, he needs to sit the hell down.VikingLord wrote:It's time to take the kid gloves off Ponder.
