If Peterson is dealt, it better not be for any less than a first round pick. At the end of the day, we hold all the cards. There's no point in cutting him now. Who the hell are we going to spend the money on? Almost all of the big name guys have signed.

We'd be better served by calling his bluff and either force him to play, or let him sit his #### on the sidelines until we cut him next year.

If we do manage to land that first round pick towards the end of the first round then I hope Todd Gurley is our guy.

We don't have to spend money on outside players - we can sign our current players to long term deals. And I still think we're going to chip away at that cap number with some lower prices FA signings.

I'd like to keep Peterson, but if we can get a great deal for him, I'm not opposed to that route, either.

I despise the Cowboys almost as much as the Packers so unless we can trade rape Dallas I would as soon see him go to Tampa or Arizona

I gotta believe that with J Jones letting Murray go, he is Certain that he has landed AP......It WOULD be hiliarious if sly old Ziggy canoodles AP into staying here and J Jones is left with NO star RB..........

I just don't see it happening. Dallas isn't flush with cap space and I can't see Peterson slashing his salary effectively in half. Let's just say I'd be shocked at this point.

I think Jones canoodeled himself and they shoulda signed Murray early on....assuming they could have.

Still, with that line just about any NFL back should be servicable for them.

Doubtful. But the good that can come of this is Jerry feeling desperate and giving Minnesota a boatload in return for AP.

For experimental purposes, I would like to see Trent Richardson on the Cowboys to see how great that O-line truly is. Richardson is buns.

@PNW
I should ammend my take to suggest that the RB be a legit NFL back. Trent hasn't quite reached that plateau.

I don't know who Dallas has on their depth chart or who is out there....but it shouldn't be all that difficult to find a guy to tote the rock for that group.

Times are changing in Big D. Drafted an OG over Manziel, gave Dez the tag instead of an extension, didn't break the bank for Demarco and allowed him to walk.

Perhaps the Cowboys have decided to fill the RB position in the draft this year. This draft is one of the deepest drafts for RB in recent memory. One of Gordon or Gurley could be on the board at #27 overall when the Cowboys turn in their pick.

Accounting for their draft picks, Dallas has about $3.5 million in cap space available. I don't see how they can fit Peterson into the equation. Romo takes up $27 million of cap room this year and I don't see any way for them to really make that much smaller without screwing themselves again down the line.

Of course it the Dez contract come out a bit cheaper than the tag money, But I just don't see how they can do it until that happens a least. And that may not happen until after training camp.

If he does get traded (not saying he's going to be) I think it will be to AZ.

As an aside, they just restructured Carson Palmer, freed up 7 million in cap space for this year.

Goessling's latest blog story is on the AD situation. Probably the most level headed media perspective I've read in the past 72hrs....maybe longer.

AZ would be tolerable, if he does get traded. Cowboys would be the hardest to swallow though.

I can see some of these QB's, like Palmer, kneeling in front of their HC saying 'please?'.

I'm kind of hoping it is Dallas and we get the reverschel trade.
