Dont be so sure...desperation and a rehab project are frequent companions...and his team wants him gone.
Re: Bridgewater Down
Yep this seems most likely. I'm going to say it will be Sanchez.chicagopurple wrote:realistically, we will prolly get Kaepernick or Sanchez......cheap and unwanted and experienced.
Or we can put McKinnon under center and run the triple option.

Disagree. Mark Sanchez went to two AFC championships on a good defense and Dilfer and Grossman went to a SB. Anything can happendead_poet wrote:

Re: Bridgewater Down
The calls for Josh McCown seem silly. If Shaun Hill put a McCown jersey on, most of us wouldn't know the difference. We roll with Hill, and the year is likely to play out eerily similar to that weird Brad Johnson year, or the arguably weirder Ferrotte year. 10-6, 9-7, you pick. Sanchez is well on his way to becoming Shaun Hill and he doesn't have two years under his belt so plugging him in and thinking we'll be better off is like, well it's like when the Eagles did the same thing. All we need is a body to put behind Shaun Hill because if he goes down as well, then we really can start looking forward to a last place finish.

I agree. That sucks, especially because he just showed us a few days ago that he might be making genuine progress with his game.

Re: Bridgewater Down
Really disappointing and terrible for him and the team. He was showing real progress and I'd agree pretty much ends the season. For the Vikes to be able to contend, the biggest factor was going to be Bridgewater and the passing offense improving. Without him we really don't have any viable options to improve on where they ended up last season. Potentially making the playoffs based on the talent on the rest of the team, but I don't see how they would even sniff a Super Bowl without a relatively decent option at qb.

Re: Bridgewater Down
Down here in nauseating cowboys land, the media and fans are all raving about their "suddenly thrust into the starting QB job" Dak, and it sounded so ridiculous.
Now I'm doing the same thing...
"The Vikes backup can do it, he can lead the team, and Teddy will be back in just a few weeks!"
Good grief...
...wisdom ?

don't see why the bengals trade mccarron. they have nothing behind dalton and would be a 4 win team without him. mccarron played well enough to help them get to the playoffs, and had the steelers beat if not for pacman and burfict's stupidity. the guy i would target would be bradford. he's not in their long term plans and they still have daniels and wentz.
Re: Bridgewater Down
Again, it doesn't matter. The SB is out of reach. Don't give up the future for an (ugly) patch now. Whoever we would trade for isn't the answer at QB and wouldn't be significant enough of an upgrade to get deep into the playoffs, much less SB. Trot Hill out there for 5 games then Heineke and move on and hope to God Teddy can play in 2017

Season is far from over!! All we need is a quarterback that doesn't make a lot of mistakes.
AP & Zim's D will have to earn their keep.
We can do it

Re: Bridgewater Down
I've been generally positive about Spielman but my biggest criticism has always been a complete and utter lack of any sort of contingency plan at QB. He gets his guy and then refuses to draft anyone else except for a very late or undrafted FA. It's ridiculous how many times this has come back to bite him in the #### and he still doesn't change.
So now it's a scramble to grab McCown, Sanchez, Yates, or some other castoff to play behind Hill.

I don't understand the hate for Sanchez. He has one bad play that seems to stick with him for his career. If we can get him, i would be thrilled.
