I think they need to get him the ball on some routes he isn't as accustomed to. Teddy hasn't exactly been stellar on the deep ball, but I hope that improves some.dead_poet wrote: From what I understand he becomes more of an issue during the season if he's not getting his/the team isn't doing well. I don't know if that's considered "diva" WR behavior or simply ultra-competitive/frustration. I think there's a fine line there.

Tavaris signed again with seattle so you will see him December 6th. I would much rather have Vick than Freeman. Josh Freeman is pretty terrible IMO.

He explained that in his Reddit.PurpleMustReign wrote:
It also irked me when he reported something from a "source" that said AD was being traded, and then rudely backed it up when people challenged him on it. Then, alas, AD is still here, and has restructured his contract even.

Some of it's stylistic: I literally don't care for his writing style. I also think he has a tendency to be too longwinded and he relies far too much on analytics for my taste. As Craig said, Hasan seems to play favorites too.dead_poet wrote:Out of curiosity, why?
I just don't find him a very enjoyable or reliable source of info about the Vikes.
Re: Training Camp Master Thread
He's hardly the first. Pelissero and Zulgad have done that in the past, too. I think it's being guilty of wanting to rely too much on his own evaluation (being proved "right") and his purple bias. If you don't only read Hasan and instead use his work as one part of your content consumption I find he provides a unique perspective. He certainly seems like he has more schematic insight than most beat writers. YMMVlosperros wrote:I think Hasan plays favorites. Once a player is on his poop list, that's that.
Seems as if Hasan is sort of closed minded in that way.

It's official: Jim hates numbers and analytics!Mothman wrote:I also think he has a tendency to be too longwinded and he relies far too much on analytics for my taste.
That's cool. I've grown pretty tired of Zulgad myself. Who are your favorites?I just don't find him a very enjoyable or reliable source of info about the Vikes.

I don't read enough of Hasan to have an opinion, but I will say that Zulgad went from a reporter that I liked in 2009 to somebody who I attempt to avoid if at all possible.

On today's practice:
@MasterStrib "If it rains, we're not going in. ...If there's lightning, we're going in. If it's hailing, put your helmets on."
@eric_j_thompson Zimmer: veterans might be running with the starters now but they doesn't mean they'll get the starting not in September.

Re: Training Camp Master Thread
@ArifHasanNFL Zimmer looking for Kalil to maintain focus on pads, and stay low. Says he is bigger and his pass sets look better. In position much better.
@mattvensel Mike Zimmer says that Matt Kalil is a little bigger this year. Last year, some thought he was a little too light.
@ArifHasanNFL Zimmer: I really like Shaun Hill. Needs an extra can of oil to put on his arm each day, though. but praised his smarts and poise.
@markcraignfl Anthony Barr will do more in practice today, Zimmer said
@MasterStrib "Sharrif [Floyd] looks quicker to me" Zimmer also added Floyd looks confident #Vikings
@mattvensel Zimmer said he assumes the #Vikings will carry three QBs, but also said they will keep the best 53 guys.
@ArifHasanNFL Crichton's brief appearance in first team nickel yesterday was now about managing Robison's reps but Zim likes how Crichton has improved
@MasterStrib Shamar Stephen won't practice today, but Zimmer said he will "soon" #Vikings
@ArifHasanNFL Zim says we'll see Shamar "soon" but Sugarman told him not to say that.
@mattvensel Zimmer on Stefon Diggs: "I think this guy's got a chance to be pretty good." Thinks he can play both inside and out.
@ArifHasanNFL Zim quick to praise Diggs. Natural catcher, quick to get off LOS, great movement (0-40 "like that")
@MasterStrib "I asked how many dumb rookies do we have in here. One raised his hand." - Mike Zimmer #Vikings
@ArifHasanNFL Zim: Best thing that Jarius did was in the slot. We'll work him outside but his best value is in slot.

Re: Training Camp Master Thread
@ArifHasanNFL Priefer: I tell Marcus every year there's competition for his spot as a punt returner. He's our #1 right now
@eric_j_thompson Priefer: Sherels is still the punt returner but be knows he has to battle for it again. Praised Thielen's special teams play.
@ArifHasanNFL Adam Thielen is a "top 5" special teams player on our roster. Still has a lot to learn.
@mattvensel Mike Priefer says it's truly an open competition at long snapper. Punt returner will be a battle, too, but it's Marcus Sherels' job to lose.
@eric_j_thompson Ball security is the top priority for young returners according to Priefer. They'll make mistakes calling for fair catches, or reading blocks but have too keep ball
@GoesslingESPN Marcus Sherels will have competition at punt returner, Priefer said, but that's been true for Sherels every year.
@ArifHasanNFL Blair's misses: 2 were blocked, 3 above 50 yards. Not concerned with last year in terms of technique.
@eric_j_thompson Priefer: With the longer XPs they've been practicing it at the beginning of every session. Thinks most guys will kick them from a hashmark.
@ArifHasanNFL Priefer: Some of Locke's struggles were the snap he received, others because he lengthened his steps to try and crush it.
@eric_j_thompson Priefer: Locke has worked hard in the offseason, his main problem last year was trying to "kill the ball", especially into the wind.
@Andrew_Krammer #Vikings ST coach Mike Priefer praised rookie Stefon Diggs' fielding on punts returns. In annual competition for Sherels' spot

Re: Training Camp Master Thread
Not very encouraging from a OL standpoint...Pocket collapsing ?The defensive line had a much better time of it today than yesterday, which meant more throws under "pressure." Teddy’s good under pressure and had been for the most part, but his most inaccurate passes definitely came from a compressed pocket, including a high one to Johnson that bounced off of the top of his fingers.
OTH D line seems solid and added some more speed rushers with Crighton and Hunter
