He should be suspended by the Vikings until he clears it up. Just like Cook was.
WTH Has he admitted to doing this? What if he is innocent? How about innocent until proven guilty. Why suspend him until he goes through the courts IMO.

Well, I think it would be in the Vikings best interest to suspend him. Last thing anyone wants to have happen. We screwed up with Cook, I would rather Zimmer have a new attitude.

I've honestly never been more upset by a Vikes-related story. I don't even know how I feel about it other than distressed, disillusioned and depressed.
I was excited about the start of a new season and was looking forward to watching Sunday's game. Now I just feel sick.

Same as Cook. It will be to much of a distraction. And with what went on with Rice, it will show that the Vikings are not like other teams or the NFL. It will also make Peterson want to get it over with. I don't know about TX, but I know in FL they have to take you to trial within 90 days unless you sign off on taking longer. The sooner he gets this over with the better.
A switch to a 4 year old is a bit excessive.

So lets not act like he brutally assaulted the kid just cause there's scratches.
Yes, and abrasions and scratches like that can itch so if the child scratched them, that might explain why some of them were bleeding when he returned to Minnesota. They don't seem severe enough to have been bleeding all along, and it takes time to get from Texas to MN. then again, I'm not a doctor and I've never been hit with a switch so what do I know?
$#@!*^%!
When is being a Vikings fan ever just going to be about football? It's just been one frustrating or disappointing off-the-field situation after another... for decades now.

Uh-oh...Someone talk Jim off the ledge.
Then again, if he hasn't jumped by now, he probably won't.

I won't but I'm still out on the ledge anyway.
Peterson has been my favorite NFL player to come along in well over a decade. This has me truly upset.

I bought a Blue Moon seasonal sampler 12 pack and Fireball Whisky thinking I was good through gameday. Now it looks like I'm good until about 9pm tonight.

As with me. Debating on what to do with his jersey I just got last Christmas. Surely, I won't wear it.

Fireball though?
Way too syrup-y for my liking.

The latest reports at
TMZ now say the child was 4. They also have an update with a statement.
The PP reproduced the statement
here:
“Adrian Peterson has been informed that he was indicted by a grand jury in Montgomery County, Texas for Injury to a Child. The charged conduct involves using a switch to spank his son. This indictment follows Adrian’s full cooperation with authorities who have been looking into this matter. Adrian is a loving father who used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son. He used the same kind of discipline with his child that he experienced as a child growing up in east Texas. Adrian has never hidden from what happened. He has cooperated fully with authorities and voluntarily testified before the grand jury for several hours. Adrian will address the charges with the same respect and responsiveness he has brought to this inquiry from its beginning. It is important to remember that Adrian never intended to harm his son and deeply regrets the unintentional injury.”
